Yesterday was a disaster. I saw Perkins walking to the bench flexing his muscle as if he were Kurt Angle. I'm here to say that our front court has no young big body to control him. I think we need to address that through a trade or draft. Another thing, Derrick Rose and Ben Gordon is the only ones whom are mobile enough to get to the rim. Hinrich loves to shoot from the 3 arc to the elbow and not drive for contact - I expect that from a guy who went to Kansas. Salmons is aging and I don't see him having a starting role next year. I think Deng will take that SF job. Now that leaves us with a undersized, soft point guard at the 2 - c'mon, we all know BG7 is gone. Then, at the SF position you have Deng whom isn't athletic enough to go one-on-one. It's not looking good for the Bulls at all. I also gave up on Tyrus along time ago. So you need a GM that is willing to get the job done before we have a situation with Rose like KG had in Minni, well I'm here to help.

*We have to address the beef up front. You can't have two tweeners trying to stop a big body, it creates matchup problems. So that's why I came a with this trade which sends Tyrus Thomas, Kirk Hinrich, Jerome James, and the 2009 draft first selection to Suns for Shaq. That trade boosts are value in the East. Plus, Kerr would do this trade. He saves 6 million, Tyrus Thomas and Kirk Hinrich are acquired; and he gets a 16th overall pick from us to match his 14th pick. Some may say that's too much for a aging Center. I have repute that statement because Shaq still has a impact and he somehow is more energize coming off this last season. I mean besides, his contract is favorable. Last, we could use his dominance and that 18 ppg inside.

C: O'Neal, Miller

*Now we suddenly improved the front-court balance. Maybe, sign Brandon Bass to play behind Noah at the four. Which now you're looking at a offensive and active front court with Noah complementing Shaq. So where do you look now, we could use that 26th pick to draft a SG that will complement Rose. The best available prospect I can think of come the late first round is the 20 year old Nick Calathes. He's tough, can handle the ball with a shooters touch, and he has great IQ.

PF: Noah, Bass

SG: Calathes, Salmons

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The results for 2009-10:

PG: Rose, Calathes
SG: Salmons, Calathes
SF: Deng, Thomas
PF: Noah, Bass
C: O'Neal, Miller

Analysis: The team look good on paper but somewhere along the season a SG/SF player would be critical to take pressure off Salmons at SG and Tim Thomas at backup SF. Overall, I like the new additions.

We aren't trading TT for a one yr rental of Shaq and Brandon Bass isn't leaving dallas. They will do whatever they have to resign him, we aren't getting him for the mle or less. Also you say that Salmons is aging and shouldn't start and then move him to a starting postion that requires more athleticism. Sorry your scenario will never happen.

That package or something close for Bosh? Sure, but Shaq makes no sense. The only trade we would even possibly consider for Shaq would Deng, Hinrich and filler in a magic contract dump.

Yeah, sorry man but that situation is just no good. Shaq will probably be doing even what he did this season come next year. We won't be able to run very much (or all that effectively) with the Big Aristotle demanding the ball down low and moving at the speed of mud. When Shaq is done after, say, next year, what do we do then? Now we have even more holes in our roster.

I don't agree with Salmons being done either. I think he had been playing great for the team but is clearly hurting right now. He isn't a star and he can't be expected to play on that level. He is, however, a decent third scorer and a guy who can play some defense. We need to get him in that role and make his ability to get to the basket an option when the play breaks down rather than a primary weapon.

The Bulls certainly can't win this series by trying to have 5 guys do the rebounding task that 2 or 3 on the frontline should be handling the majority of.

If Tyrus, Noah and Miller, with a little help from the SF, can't take care of the business on the glass, then we are probably screwed. Because we need to get the ball and get down the floor fast to exploit Boston. We can't do that if we need 5 guys to box out 2 on the other team.

I'm also rapidly losing faith in Brad Miller as being any kind of use to us next year. He seems to be aging before our eyes. Or maybe its just Boston's defense is that much better in general, than the shlub teams we were facing in the regular season that Miller could pull his goofy show the ball and drive trick with. No one should be falling for that in the NBA really.

That leaves the Bulls next year and long term with just relying on Noah and Tyrus, and neither one is a consistent enough offensive player to make a half court offense work effectively. Neither does either one have enough bulk and strength to control the boards over the course of an entire night when they are played as a tandem. They have a lot of energy and hustle, as well as speed and quickness. They block shots, but there always seems to be a breakdown during a game of about 5 or 10 minutes where they just can't stop anyone and they are getting pushed around and dominated inside.

Paxson has said in radio interviews he is going to crack down on the young bigs offseason regiments and make sure they work out and come into next season in shape, and hopefully stronger and bigger. But I have my doubts, I think Paxson is just delaying the inevitable. I don't really see both of these guys on the team in 2 years.

With Rose being the up and coming star that he is the Bulls should be very careful before making a move. We have to remember that he is going to get better so unless we can get a number 2 guy or 1 guy to go along with him they shouldn't move anyone until the trade deadline. Let's see how Noah and Thomas come back from the summer, if they bulk up and show improvement then maybe we don't have to move them. However there is the risk that they don't play well and they lose their trade value, so if Bosh is available this summer the Bulls might have to trade one of them. Also I think that Salmons will easily beat out Deng for the 3 spot or they could run him at the 2 and bring Gordon off the bench. Either way they should sign Gordon unless they are going to go after a big free agent, but I don't see who that would be. Oh yah, they would still need an enforcer down low if they got a Bosh or Amare, there was a post earlier about Reggie Evans, he would be perfect. I will have to look up his contract.
