Okay, Bulls are 16-20 so far and are in the 8th seed currently (barely). Things are getting pretty tough though.

Let's look ahead. Their schedule for the next 9 games:

@Boston
Washington
@Golden State
@LA Clippers
@Phoenix
@Houston
@San Antonio
@Oklahoma City
@New Orleans

Only 1 game at home and 8 on the road. Bulls have won only 3 games on the road all year and are pretty pathetic actually.

Before you think Warrirors/Clippers/etc might be winnable games, those teams are playing pretty good lately and have lost to good teams in the closing moments - Bulls may not even score as much to even stay close at the end.

I am not so optimistic. I see Bulls most likely going 1-8 in the next 9 and unfortunately it will most likely end all the playoffs talk - until we make a trade of some sort.

Bulls record after the trip - I predict 2 wins - that would give the 18-27 record. Possibly in the 10th place if not 11th or 12th.

Even if the Bulls go 1-8 during that stretch, they'll still be in the hunt in the East. It just seems that the 8th or 7th spot is always a 3 or 4-game win streak away.

I think the Bulls would have to go on a Pistons-like streak to fall out of playoff contention. And I agree, the Clipps and Warriors are no gimmies. When it comes to this teams there's no such thing as a gimmie on the road.

Why do I get the feeling that they'll go 0-9? The Wizards game should be very winnable, but for some reason I get the feeling that the Bulls will play worse than the Nets for this whole stretch.

I don't think we're going to fall that far behind in the playoff race.

The Bucks have 9 of their next 13 on the road (and like us their road records sucks: 4-13), so I don't expect them to make much if any ground. The Knicks have an easier schedule in the short term and might pass us for now. But the Bobcats are coming up to a tough patch (difficult home games followed by a road trip) too.

So I think we'll still be right in the 7-10 mix of bad but not awful teams. Once this hard stretch is done it's likely we can go at least .500, so all we need to do is hang in there (even 2-7 is probably good enough) and we're still a good chance to make the playoffs.
