I am very happy that we are pulling the plug on Vinnie Del Negro. That being said, it is time for managment to go. No managment has been more disfunctional than ours over the last 3 years and no managment has made worse decisions. The only good decision they have made is Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah (Derrick wasnt too tough of a decision). Managment has made some AWFUL decisons, such as Tyrus (a player NO OTHER TEAM WANTED IN THE TOP 10) and the WORST decision, Vinnie Del Negro. We hired a coach 2 years ago, to coach our team who had never coached a game in his life. What decision could possibly be dumber. It was a terrible decision at the time and today just caps what is a decision I feel few NBA GMs would make. Than look at how we behave. Paxson and Del Negro fighting. Gar Forman making an asshat of himself to the media when discussing Del Negro earlier in the year. The handeling of the Ben Gordon contract. The crazy contract of Luol Deng. The list goes on. I feel that the talent on the Chicago Bulls should be enough to get #1 free agent. Our organizations class however is questionable and I wonder if that will end up killing us. I am reading now that Paxson is pretty much distancing himself from the organization. I am hoping maybe JR fires Gar as well and does a major overhaul, bringing maybe a GM in who people respect. I am sure that I am wishing for too much. I just hope we get a fucking great free agent.

Did you ever stop and wonder where we would be if we didn't luck into that lottery ball to get Derrick Rose? Where the heck would this team be?

Yes, I have thought about that. We would be in the toilet. We would be one of the worst teams in the leauge. Do NOT make any mistakes. We are in the position we are in now because of the good lord and his good graces. This has NOTHING to do with our managment. It's all Derrick Rose.

Probably in pretty much the same situation. We'd have Brook Lopez, and be hoping for Wade instead of Bosh. I think Wade + Lopez + Noah is about as good as Rose + Bosh + Noah.

Mark, I think it starts at the top. JR has a much greater input into basketball operations than most owners. Till he is gone, I don't see us returning to a championship level.

With a lineup of Rose, Wade, Deng, Noah and Lopez, could you have a more crowded lane? The sum of the parts would be a lot less than their individual talents. Not to mention there is no guarantee we get Lopez or that he would be as good without being the focal point of the offense.

i think you misunderstood him.

we would have landed lopez in the draft in stead of derrick rose. Rather than going for bosh, we'd be going for wade.

It’s ridiculous and reprehensible on every level that the Bulls would fire Vinny Del Negro. Instead of removing the cancer (John Paxson) and the guy who started all of this, we have to kill the peacemaker.

Just as I didn’t understand why so many of you were willing to get rid of Ben Gordon, neither can I fathom why you were so eager to see Vinny Del Negro fired. The guy actually wasn’t doing that bad of a job. But now, it’s over.

This is preposterous. I demand an explanation.

Vinny is not a good coach. It's really that simple. I'll give a great example.

Game 3 vs. Cavs: Cavs have no timeouts. All Bulls need to do is inbound the ball & get fouled. Vinny calls a timeout. All Bulls fans with half a brain collectively groan. Vinny has just given the competition the chance to set-up a final play. The Cavs bench was laughing at us. Thankfully the ball ended up in Anthony Parker's hands & their play went to crap. Dumb luck, that should be Vinny's nickname.

It's that level of stupidity that permeated Vinny's entire tenure as head coach. You would think after nearly 2 full seasons he would understand how & when to use timeouts, or when to ride the hot hand, or draw up any play at all. Did you ever watch Vinny during timeouts? Half of the players weren't even paying attention to him because they knew the play already. Give it to Derrick? Oh, ok, we're gonna give it to Derrick. It's no surprise that when teams shut down Rose, we were godawful. It's because we had no offensive scheme to speak of. I will give Vinny credit for focusing more on defense, but ALOT of that was Noah becoming a beast, Gibson being a former Pac-10 DPOY, Deng being fully healthy almost all season, & Kirk being in the starting lineup.

There's nothing reprehensible or ridiculous about firing a guy who couldn't coach his way out of a park district game. What's reprehensible & ridiculous is that he was hired in the first place.

Sorry, meant to type Kirk instead of rose. But I don't see Lopez as a lock on the bulls either way, we could have easily picked someone else. I'm much happier with Rose over Lopez.

I'm saying I think Wade is better than Rose by about the same amount Bosh is better than Lopez, so the team is roughly the same either way.

I don't think either would have the same stats playing on the same team. Both get the ball a lot. But I still like the make up and age of Rose and Bosh vs Wade and Lopez. Don't get me wrong Wade is great and you have to take him worse but I think Bosh is a much better fit.

Given that Wade has been both the finals MVP and on a 15 win team, I really don't think team record is in any way a useful tool in evaluating individual players.

i would like to point out that wade missed 31 games that season and in both of the years he's played mostly the whole season, his teams have improved like 30 games over that.
