(RUSH or Mods, could we have this thread pinned/sticky'd?)

Well, as the title states...this is a thread we could utlitize as for off-season headlines, rumors, draft prospects, current player updates, front office talk, etc.

For instance, our current main topics seem to revolve around these:

- Aquiring a formidable SG
- Trading for Howard
- Draft prospects
- Trading Boozer
- What we think GarPax will do next

These are just a few of the many things we talk on here in the Bulls boards. So, I'll start it off with the most recent thing related to our team....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is there really any truth that the Front Office is already looking to dump Carlos Boozer?? I mean, yeah, he didn't have the greatest playoffs. He is still getting used to how different playing bigs on the East is compared to what he did out west with Utah. Though...if he has to go. He has to go for a better cause.

Mayo is one of the top 3 I'd really wanna go for! Wonder if Memphis would let us have him for a better deal or just an even deal now that the season is over? (pipedream thought lol)

I find it highly unlikely that Boozer will get traded even if it is true that Bulls FO is shopping him (which I doubt to begin with). I really don't think anyone's going to take his contract. And if we are trading away the first semblance of a low post player that we've had in years, we better be getting something good in return.

Did anyone else read Sam Smiths article about Memphis's GM hating the Bulls?

We should make one thread for everyone that wants to pipe dream about Howard and one thread for discussion the Bulls' real needs.

Wouldn't you consider acquiring the best center in a decade a need?

Realistically, it may not happen, but it should be something the Bulls pursue.

Not when we are set at Center and it would gut the team to get him. No.

Our frontcourt is not the problem.

We need a solid shooting guard. Period.

I think everyone's concern is that our current team plus an acquirable SG is still less than Miami

But, what team isn't?

I don't feel this way, obviously. I think this team, with another scorer beside Rose can beat Miami.

I hope so! Im kind of mixed man I see where you are coming from but usually in the playoffs star power wins.

On the other hand I love this team as constructed and I dont think our young guys are done getting better nor do I think if healthy Boozer would have performed that badly.

Im not in the Howard or bust camp, but if the Bulls got him I would be excited as hell.

If we get a SG not named Courtney Lee I will be excited too

If we are talking about the offseason, I think that there are a handful of guys that would help the Bulls in the draft--1)Marshon Brooks--would fill scoring need immediately, but he may not be available 2)Iman Shumpert--great athelete and lock down defender who can handle the ball and get to the rim consistently. If he plays next to Rose, he could play the 2 and possibly develop into a 10-15 point scorer. 3)Jeremy Tyler--should have been a lottery pick if he stayed in school, has great potential and atheleticism. Could possibly make Gibson/Asik tradeable down the line. 4)Justin Harper--a stretch 4 who can play some 3 and back up Deng. Would be a good floor spacer. 5)Josh Selby--could be an elite scorer, alla Monta Ellis, but would have to play next to a big point guard to cancel out his flaws. 6)Charles Jenkins--an efficient combo guard who is built like a truck. Could end up as a Billups-esqe player.
I am pretty sure that the Bulls are keeping their picks, any other players that the FO should look at 28 and 30?

When drafting in the late 1st round there are 2 options:

1. Draft Euro or High potential guy: Why? Euro doesn't count on Cap and High Potential Guy gives you potential trade chips.

2. Draft Role Players that can replace your current players on much cheaper deals.

Expecting any of these guys to actually turn into starters is pretty unrealistic.

My Current Dream Draft:
#28: Lucas Noguiera (Euro/High Potential)
#30: Iman Shumpert or Justin Harper (Role Player)
#43: Reggie Jackson (Role Player)

I also wanted to note that I really like this new look towards "flexibility" by Gar/Pax. I really hope they consider picking up J.R. Smith. Even if he is a complete failure at our Starting Shooting Guard, I think he can replace Kyle Korver's role as instant offense.
