Nick Friedell: It's doubtful the Bulls will make a major move on draft night. The last thing they want to do is add another high-salaried player because of the uncertainty of the impending lockout and new collective bargaining agreement. The...

Ok. Enjoy watching the Heat win the East for the next 4 years, Bulls FO. Your conservatism will really pay off.

I firmly believe the bulls mgmt will do nothing to improve this team. Barring a diamond in rough draft pick.

Has there been a Bulls draft recently without conservatism? I don't recall any crazy trades for a while.

The LaMarcus for Tyrus swap was a pretty large risk. Proven vs Potential.

He did say for awhile. That was 6 or 7 years ago.

On Dougs post :obama: all teams are going to be conservative. Nothing groundbreaking there.

Here's another :obama:
A deal of Bogans + Pargo + Lucas + cap room + draft picks matches O.J. Mayo without any other players coming back.

Why would ANYONE want any of those players? Doug doesn't know that the goal of the other 29 NBA GMs is NOT to make the Bulls better.

.

Yeah..."a while" isn't really a definitive time line and the Aldirdge deal was 5 years ago this draft.

James Johnson was partially risky because he kind of broke the proven player mold of the Bulls of taking 3-4 year college players that had gone with in regards to Gordon, Hinrich, Noah. Rose was a one and done but with the #1 overall pick most times all bets and "patterns" are off.

Doug Thonas is fucking awful.

I really question why Rush posts his shit here. All he does is jump into ESPN's trade machine and come up with asinine one sided trades. I'd love to see his NBA 2K team.

Congrats on 2000 posts BTW

On an unrelated note about 2K, I trade Deng and Boozer for Durant and Seflosha. Why OKC would part with Durant beats me.

The essence behind that trade was that we're essentially removing Mayo's contract off of their books which gives them the freedom to extend Gasol without having to worry about potentially coming into huge financial trouble by extending Mayo as well. Now I am in agreement that it's highly unlikely that Memphis even looks at that deal, but from a hypothetical perspective it makes sense if Memphis wanted that flexibility.
