I disagree on the MVP issue, Rose hit a career-high six threes and was all-around unstoppable.

I think its all about style and the moment. WHEN you do it and WHO is watching. For example, Rose might have gotten a bigger buzz from beating Miami on a Sunday game on ABC then Kobe got for destroying the Spurs by 35 on what I believe was the same day. Kobe may have had a better game, but the pressure wasn't on and the game wasn't as good. for the casual voter, that might be all it comes down to.

to a small extent i disagree with doug.

Yeah, that hawks game was completely unwatchable. AFter the half, the only interesting part of the game was to see if the bench could push the lead to 40, again. On the other hand, the casual fan doesn't stay up late to watch lakers games till 1 in the morning.

Also, the casual nba fan knows the suns are better than the hawks. After looking at the highlights in the morning, a guy would notice that the bulls blew out the hawks, and the lakers barely won over a mediocre team might.

Still, doug's point is valid. more people are going wow, kobe almost had a tripple double with 42 points in 3 tripple overtime. Sadly, the same few people aren't realizing that rose had an amazing night in 29 minutes.
