Depending on how much, it could be a good signing.

Have you watched Howard play?

He's pretty much identical to Luol Deng at this point in his career. His driving ability is pretty much non existent these days, he's basically a 15-19 foot shooter ala Deng now.

No thank you. He's absolutely NOT what this team needs.

why not? he'll complement Rose and Noah well... and if you're worried about his age, 30 isn't that old...

30 is old when you've been in the NBA since your sophmore year of college. He's got a lot of milage on him. He's been falling off/regressing for the last two seasons, has off the court issues and is coming off of a torn ACL.

I'd rather have Deng and his bloated contract at 25 than Howard with his balky knee/game at 30 easily.

Signing Howard would be a massive mistake.

Dengs contract isnt really bloated anymore compared to other contracts given out recently for the same production....it's actually not that bad of a contract anymore.

Other than that, I agree with FirstTimer

One of the issues with Deng's is how it escaltes over the last few seasons.

What is it that the Bulls need? Can anybody here even tell me? I would think so, because there are a lot of strong opinions

SG SG SG SG SG SG to help Rose with assists. That's all that I want the Bulls to get for now at least.

As the roster sits right now?

A starting SG...Which IMO isn't Redick. He'd be nice but I'd rather see a guy like Shannon Brown signed and have Redick and Korver off the bench on the wings.

We also need depth in the front court. Mainly at center. Asik isn't it. it;d be nice if we took a look at Haslem, maybe Brad Miller as well.

We also need a backup PG. Maybe Acie Law is the guy. Not sure how Thibs likes him though. Shaun Livingston has also been mentioned as well.

I would love the Bulls to get a good SG but there isn't much out there via FA. Haslem will go to the Mavs hopefully. The Bulls could get Miller cheap and he will be a nice piece and I would love Law to be Rose's backup.

I completely agree with FT. A 30 year old coming off of a torn ACL after a couple years of mediocre play is a no go.

A lot of people hear the name Josh Howard and they just remember 07s version. We need a SG. Not a guy who can put in some minutes at SG but a full time, this is my position type SG. If we didnt have Korver, i wouldnt mind Howard backing up Deng for cheap but we need to find a SG in the worst way right now.

I'd rather have Livingston than Law. He could spell Rose at PG and give us some back up swing minutes at SG.

The best thing that happened for us to get Miller back was Jermaine O'Neal signing with th Celtics. I know the Celtics were targeting Miller. Maybe we can get Miller back for cheap but who knows. One team being desperate for front court depth and overpaying can screw it all up.

Exactly. I think the Howard signing though would be contigent on us moving Deng via trade first. I can't see us signing Howard with Deng and Korver on the roster.

Right but honestly at this point, can we even get anything worth moving Deng?

I guess if you can get Howard for 2 years, the 2nd year a TO for 6M. The 1st year 3M and the 2nd year 3M. I would do it, it can't hurt and that contract could be moved eaisly.

Well if that old Portland deal was still on the table:
Deng for Pryz and Bayless that'd be REALLY nice.

But I think that deal is dead in the water.

I was big on that Portland deal but now that would leave us without a starting SG and SF. It would certainly create depth but i think it hurts our starting 5 in a big way.

unless you can get a younger/better SF for Deng

there's no point in not keeping him

Bad idea. Id rather hang on to Deng and hope James Johnson steps up his game if/when Deng is injured.

Iggy, is a different matter. Im not liking the Hamilton or Josh Howard moves at all.

Rose, Hamilton, Howard, Boozer, Noah makes me sad.
