Skip Bayless and the other guy on 1st and 10 said that the Cavs without LeBron are a better cast than the Bulls without LeBron. Not in those exact words but basically thats what they were getting at.
While i think that the Cavs are much deeper on their bench, their starting 5 isnt as good as the Bulls with Lebron.
Rose vs Mo: Not even a question, Rose is by far the better player and hes years younger. Rose is approaching superstar status and he doesnt fizzle in the playoffs like Mo has. Rose has gotten better as his team has needed him more down the stretch. The only thing Mo has on Rose is range and that can be coached and we've already seen progression.
Hinrich vs Parker: Hinrich wins this one. Even though he disappears for stretches, offensively and defensively he's better than Parker. I think Parker vs Murray is a better debate.
Deng vs Jamison: Two different positions, i know but this is a pretty decent comparison considering they are both teams respective best 2nd option offensively. I think these guys are pretty similar, both play soft and shy away when they should be more aggressive. Deng is coming off of arguably his best year while Jamison is regressing. Still, Jamison is no doubt the better player. His overall offense is more developed and he can score in a variety of ways. Deng is always injured and a lot of time goes missing. Also, i have no idea where Deng fits in if we do get LeBron. Maybe LB plays SG?
Noah vs Shaq: Shaq can dominate a game like no other center...but it only comes for a good 10-15 minute span. Noah will never be the low post threat Shaq is but he is too good on the boards and runs the floor too well for a good 30 minutes. Shaq gets into foul trouble way too often. He's finished, pain and simple. Noah is a borderline All-Star right now and believe he will only get better. He's shown that he wont back down and wants to win more than anything. Obviously, Noah wins.
Bench vs Bench: There's really not much to discuss. The Bulls currently dont have much to work with and who knows what the bench looks like next season with all of the expiring contracts. The Cavs have Andy, Z, JJ, West, Gibson. We have Taj who i think is an ideal option off of the bench and im not sure what happens with our lineup if we do get James because Deng costs too much to keep on the bench. Maybe a Rose-James-Deng-Taj-Noah lineup? Back to the bench, James Johnson is the only other player who i think is guaranteed to come back. I think Miller will return and who knows what happens with the status of Asik. We already have a little flexibility to get james and another solid player. I dont see us keeping Kirk and i think that opens us up to get a couple more bench pieces. Maybe there will be a team so desperate that they will trade for Deng? We have some possibilities and if we do get James, believe other players will follow at a discount.
Not only do we have more quality, young pieces for LeBron to work with for years and win now with, but LeBron himself will improve the play of the rest of the gang. Imagine Rose dishing to someone who can finish around the rim. This is a no brainer BULLS>Cadavers
