Lewinthal is right about Dumars. Put Melo in Prince's place and you have a dynasty...point blank. Dumars drafting Milicic is one of the dumbest moves in pro sports drafting history because Anthony was clearly a great college player and considered the second best player available in the draft.

Fred is right about Larry Bird, bringing in a bunch of white guys purposely is going to kill that franchise. Bird has no clue, much better coach than gm...

Lewinthal is right about the Pistons, in a sucky conference, they suck bad. They have a horrendous frontcourt and the defensive abilities have taken a turn for the worse by bringing in two one dimensional players.

Yeah - completely offended by the beginning of the show. Funny that I had just decided to give you guys another shot after getting totally sick of all the BG stuff last season, and it's this.

Do you guys even have a female demographic to turn off?

I agree with Mark and Hou here. What a terrible move. He got a free pass on it because they won the title that very next year but they could have drafted not only Carmelo but Wade, Bosh, Kaman, Hinrich. Any of them would have been better than Milicic.

Those Pistons could have been a real dynasty. If they would got Carmelo and paid to keep a guy like Okur, or even Ben Wallace short term. Damn, they would have been stacked.

Great cast as usual. Mark you had me spitting out my water with the Candace Parker tampon commercial idea. I was always wondering why WNBA players were never in commercials, but I think that's due to the fact that NO ONE watches the WNBA. It's like watching pee-wee football, lots of running around, not much structure, & by some miracle one of the teams comes out the victor. I've only watched 3 games ever & that was back in '96 when the league was starting. And the fact that players are taking LOA's every season to get pregnant & give birth doesn't help an already struggling league. Look I love women & am not trying to marginalize the miracle of birth or the difficulty of carrying a baby around for 9 months, but best players sitting out a whole season because they're knocked up has helped maintain the mediocrity of this league.

But back to the podcast, Fred, how can you possibly say that the 03-04 draft class was not that great? LBJ, Melo, Wade, Bosh, West, Howard, Kaman, Hinrich, Mo Williams, Barbosa, Travis Outlaw, & so on. That was one of the best drafts in the past 20 years! And I wanted Wade, badly. I knew this kid was gonna be great. I watched him all throughout the NCAA tourney that year & he was amazing. Like Mark said, he took a mid-market school from a crappy conference at the time, all the way to the Final Four & was scorching the opposing team night in & night out. And Pax had to take a PG cuz if you remember our amazing all-star PG of the future from the all-star breeding Duke University, had the brilliant idea to race a crotch rocket down Fletcher Ave. & found out what it's like to be a crash test dummy.

And I agree with Mark that Dumars was completely idiotic in not drafting Melo, Bosh, or Wade. Melo was a sure thing after LeBron. He won a NCAA championship as a Freshman for cryin' out loud! And Dumars drafts a euro player, who wasn't even 18 yet, because he had Teyshaun Prince? TEYSHAUN PRINCE!!! He's a solid player, but he's nowhere near the talent level of a Melo or Bosh. I understand he could take a risk cuz his team was already good, but no one was predicting Darko to be amazing cuz no one knew anything about him other than he was tall, athletic, & young. Everyone knew Melo would be good, they just saw him win a NCAA title!

Also, Dumars trading Billups was the DUMBEST move he's ever made as GM, even dumber than drafting Darko. You don't trade the heart & soul of your team for the most selfish player on the planet. And it contradicted his entire resume as a GM up to that point. He took players who were hard working, unselfish, & had a chip on their shoulder. Now AI does have a chip on his shoulder but he harbors none of the other qualities that Dumars sought out in the past that helped him build a championship team. And now this offseason has just proved to me that maybe Dumars wants to get fired. The Pistons are a mess & worse yet, a capped out mess, with no hope whatsoever for the future unless they are wretchedly bad & get an amazing player in the draft.

I wouldn't call Conference USA at that time crappy, they also had Memphis, Louisville, and Cincinatti

While I know a lot of people who thought he would be good, I know no one who thought he would be THIS good...and for some reason, I still believe there is a slight chance that the Bulls can get him if they want him...

Thanks for the comments. Don't mean to offend, but until someone decides to pay us to do these shows, we are going to say what we want and u can listen to it, or not listen to it. Thanks for giving the show another shot and sorry if it's not your cup of tea.

Diddy, I think you said it right here. Dumars had built a team with an identity and has totally contradicted every move that he has ever done as a GM. I mean I can assume we are all in agreement that the Pistons needed a change. That team would of been a 4-5 seed tops now in the East (w/ Billups, Rip, Taysaun, Sheed). They needed to make a move, but getting cap space was NOT the right move. There were no free agents last year that could dramatically help the team. They essentially traded Billups and Sheed for Ben Gordon and Charlie V. 2 players who are good offensivly but poor defensivly. The Pistons SUCK on D now, when playing defense was what always defined them as a team. They has ZERO front court and a over crowded back court. Is this team done? No I am sure Dumars sees them as a work in progress but thinking your going to trade Rip is unrealistic, so how are you going to aquire new talent, Joe!?!? Pistons will be in the gutter for a decade.

I completely agree. Mark, I found your comments offensive. I think you owe me and our listeners an apology. I didn't work day and night to create the most popular Bulls podcast for female Bulls fans between the ages of 55-58 for you to tear it down with your crude assault on women.

As punishment, I would like for you to watch this video 100 times by Sunday, and sing this song on our next show.

Fred, you are nuts man....but yeah, tampons and vibrators should not have been brought up in what was definitely a worthwhile conversation. But that happens sometimes, if you are going to be provocative, you are eventually going to be offensive...apologize to the lady and all women readers and listeners and you will become better podcasters for it...

I'm suprised how offended you guys are at Mark's joke. It was a joke for one & jokes themselves on a whole are offensive. Sure Mark may have taken it a lil far, but you know what offends me, tampon commercials themselves. I don't need to see that when I'm trying to watch VH1's Tool Academy. Do women really need a commercial to tell them which feminie product to use? I don't need a condom commercial to tell me which brand I should buy.

If the lady is offended, then it is what it is...Fred caught it right away. I am not surprised, if that was said on national television, their might have been some backlash from it...almost sure of it...

And yet there are also tons of condom commercials, too, so it's hardly like any manufacturer of anything isn't out there buying commercial time.

Look, I ignore a whole lot. You have to if you're going to be a female sports fan getting involved in different forums. I frequently roll my eyes at things, but that's it. I don't object to anyone having an opinion about whether the WNBA is enjoyable to watch - given that this is by it's very nature an opinion issue. I might disagree with someone who concludes they aren't playing sound fundamental basketball for the most part, but it would be in the same nature as arguing about DIII quality. I don't mind people arguing about whether ESPN and the league are pushing it too hard - I feel that way about soccer personally, and I also personally would rather watch reruns from the NBA season than a WNBA game on TV. I have enjoyed them when I've been to a live game, but again, I have no issue with people who don't.

I felt the conversation/joke near the end of their discussion of the WNBA completely crossed the line. I know it's a free podcast, and obviously they have no obligation whatsoever to go out of their way to appeal to me as a listener. That particular part was objectionable enough to me that I felt the need to let them know rather than simply ignoring it.

I don't apologize alot, because I say dumb things, but I probobly did cross the line in my WNBA talk. You forget when you tape these things that it's not just Fred and I on the phone. I also forget that not everyone in the world has the same twisted sense of humor as I. I said something dumb....wasn't the first time, won't be the last....but I am sorry.

actually i like your sense of you humor. you're quickly becoming one of my favorite podcasters.
seriously though, if they started giving out lap dances at wnba games, i could see how audience turn out might improve. Really they ought to model the sport after either "tilt and kilt" and "hooters".

I do appreciate that. I say plenty of dumb things myself and have offended more than my share of people. For what it's worth, I do appreciate that you guys put in a lot of time and effort on something that I know many Bulls fans enjoy.

Glad to see the growth on this board. I abhor name calling, except in regards to Neil Funk and local radio personalities.

I apologize if I offended anyone with a neck tatoo. But I stand by my WNBA comments. wjb1492, I appreciate your comments and critiques.

Mark, while you're at it, you owe Frank an apology.
