Better get your reading glasses on. Here we go.

Introducing wager modes and COD points. Here are the four wager modes:
One in the Chamber: In the match everyone spawns in with a pistol, one bullet and three lives. If you kill someone you get to take their bullet. If you fire and miss you're left with melee.

Sticks and Stones: You spawn with a crossbow, ballistic knife and a tomahawk. If you hit a player with the tomahawk you instantly bankrupt that player.

Gun Game: You get a series of progressive weapons in this match. With every kill you get a better weapon. The first person to progress through all of the weapons wins. But if you get knifed you get sent back one tier.

Sharp Shooter: In this one all players start with the same randomly selected weapon. You get to use that gun for a fixed amount of time and then everyone gets switched out to the next weapon. With each kill you earn a perk and eventually a scoring multiplier.

ALSO---

Introducing Offline Multiplayer. For people who don't go online, they can now play regular multiplayer matches, like people who go online, except they'll be playing against AI. This is called "Combat Training". This will have its own progression and ranking system.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST--

Got this list of stuff from callofduty.wikia.com. Here's a slew of stuff to be in the multiplayer that we know of so far.

* Vehicles will return, but they will be very different than those in Call of Duty: World at War.
* Treyarch is considering releasing a beta-build test, and has hinted that it is likely.
* Matchmaking is being changed so that it is easier for friends to play together.
* Some campaign levels will be based off multiplayer maps instead of the typical vice-versa. This change is because some multiplayer maps had been made before the campaign was finalized.
* Create-A-Class 2.0 will allow players to customize their appearance in addition to their loadout.
* Customized killstreaks will return, but the game-ending Tactical Nuke will not. Kills earned from killstreak rewards will not count towards increasing a player's killstreak.
* The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 perks Commando and One Man Army are not going to return.[10]
* The PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops will feature dedicated servers.[11]
* Shotguns and Machine Pistols as secondary weapons are not expected to return, as Treyarch stated in an interview that they give the player "too much firepower".
* Call of Duty: Black Ops will let the player record demos ingame, which could be done in pre-MW2 PC Call of Duty games.[12]
* Sentry gun-like cameras (Camera Spike): Detects enemy nearby on your radar. The camera's live feed (in thermal vision) replaces your radar.
* 3 killstreak: A remote-controlled buggy that explodes when detonated by user.
* 4 killstreak: Care Package
* 5 killstreak: Something like Predator Missile called the Arch Angel but it can be controlled freely and guided around the map, not straight down to the ground like the Predator Missile.
* Unknown Killstreak: An unknown type of Helicopter.
* Unknown Killstreak: An unknown Air Strike (possibly an F4 Phantom or a prototype Harrier)
* Weapon Camouflages: Woodland, Arctic and Desert.
* Ballistic Knife: Can be shot and reloaded.
* Grenades like Semtex (Stickable).
* New Function: Players can now record, manage, edit and upload in-game video clips.
* New Maps: Launch and Summit
* The crossbow is in Multiplayer. Unlike in Singeplayer, it does not have a scope by default, and it seems explosive tipped bolts are an attachment as the name of the crossbow seen in the multiplayer teaser is "Crossbow Explosive Tip". It also appears to be a secondary weapon.
* There appears to be some type of motion sensor, like in Battlefield: Bad Company, which show red dots on the radar in a small radius. This can be seen at around 1:05 in the Multiplayer teaser.
* Treyarch has confirmed that it will be close to impossible to use any kind of mods in Call of Duty: Black Ops, though mod tools and modding will be present for the PC version of the game.
* It seems that the player will have the ability to perform a diving roll. This can be seen at around 0:41 in the multiplayer teaser.
* The smiley face on the Red Dot Sight and engraving on the Commando (weapon) are most likely features of Create-a-Class 2.0

I cannot wait for this game now. Sounds much better than MW2. Though, I felt World at War was better than MW2, so maybe its just Treyarch being better than Infinity Ward.

Thank God Commando and shotguns/machine-pistols are out, those three elements effectively ruined MW2. Akimbo weapons also need to hit the road or at least be altered somehow (they were WAY too accurate in MW2).

The ballistic knife and the crossbow with exploding arrows sound awesome. Oh, and the tomahawk too. I can't wait.

Get rid of commando, one man army, and danger close.

Get rid of grenade launchers, thumpers, rpgs, claymores, c4, ect...

Make it so shotguns and machine pistols are primary weapons only.

Call of Duty 4 will never be matched.... ever!!!

Yeah, COD 4 was almost the perfect FPS multiplayer mode ever. Every gun was balanced with the others in its class (not "balanced" by having the exact same abilities as every other gun in the class as in MW2 but by having weaknesses that other weapons excelled in, etc.), the perks were also balanced and fun, but still didn't alter the game in any great way (like the Marathon-Lightweight-Commando perks do in MW2). What's more, the game as a whole did a good job of making sure skill won out over luck and in-game mechanics more often than not: there weren't chest-high barricades everywhere, no random hit-markers, no heartbeat sensors, etc. Overall COD 4 remains one of the best online FPS experiences I've ever played through.

thank god there's no tactical nuke. hopefully they get rid of tactical insertion too. also, with the new COD points, you get to purchase weapons and attachments. not sure how you accumulate COD points though, because an article said its different than experience points.

The obvious shit wrong with MW2 has been pointed out but...

Guns need recoil... **** anyone can pick up MW2 and spray an ACR across the map for easy kills.

One huge reason COD4 was so much better than MW2 is you had more health. In MW2 anyone can spray a fucking SCAR hit you twice in the leg and you die. In COD4 you could run around and take a few shots and the player with faster more accurate aim would win the gun fight.

pulled this from a VG247 article:

"Recoil increased

Moving along. Standard multiplayer modes in Black Ops are like slipping into a comfortable pair of shoes. The main glaring difference we noticed – killstreak gimmicks like the RC car and the dogs (yes, they’re back) aside – was the dispersion and recoil on most of the weapons we tried was noticeably increased. When quizzed later on this, Suarez stated this was just a game balance technique, although we had a hard time finding any weapon which would fire bullets with the kind of precision of some of Modern Warfare 2’s.

The result is firefights which can last a beat longer than you may be used to. If Modern Warfare is blink and you’re dead, Black Ops is more blink and you’re at death’s door. If you’re not playing a Wager Match, it’s a safe expectation that if you’ve picked up Modern Warfare title in the past, you’ll know what to do right from the start."

So that's good news. Recoil is increased. Reward the players that actually have skill instead of rewarding the people who get lucky and just spray their shots everywhere.

Awesome info Highjump. Glad to see that it is possible for skilled players to beat players that camp in corners now rather than have no chance because you died way too fast in MW2.

Also Shotguns are in Black Ops but are not primary weapons. Which is fair and balanced. Like in COD4 no one really used the shotguns because then they were stuck with a weapon that had zero range.

Exactly. In MW2 the only gun with legitimate recoil is the AK-47. And the note on health is spot on, and the lack of health in MW2 has lead to people abusing the burst-fire weaponse: M16 (which was admittedly overpowered for its accuracy in COD4 too) and FAMAS. And there's no reason any sub-machine gun should be accurate enough for a kill from across the map, the UMP is the biggest offender of this.

Well shucks. Apparently Tactical Insertion is coming back for this game. I used the Tactical Insertion for one match in MW2 and that was so that I could spawn in the basement of the house in Estate. Eventually they caught on so I stopped using it. The only people I've seen use it were nuke boosters and people who used the elevator glitches on maps before they were patched. This was one piece of equipment that needed to leave the game, but they brought it back. Kinda disappointed, but oh well.

What the ****, even though the spawn were fucked up in MW2 part of objective game modes is containing spawn points. Any asshole can plant a tact insertion in the bushed behind the other teams base and keep trying to run flags... that is such bullshit.

Most people just use them to boost anyway which is even gayer.

MW2 is an easy game to master, I have a legit 2.85 K/D ratio... without boosting. I also don't camp I run around with Marathon Lightweight Ninja and a UMP or I play objectives with a Famas. If you need to boost for good stats then you suck.
