Some of my Christmas bonus will be spent on a Camcorder. I need a higher-quality camcorder that allows me upload videos directly to my computer for burning in dvds...ideally would be in the $200-$300 range...but I've never purchased one before. Anyone have any recommendations?

My old man just bought himself a Samsung Galaxy camera. It's pretty cool, takes nice pictures/video, and lets you upload to your comp. via wi-fi. It ran @ 4 bills I think. I haven't dicked around with it too much yet, but seems to be capable of doing what you're looking for.

Honestly, youtube reviews and demos. See the picture yourself and then determine if you're spending too much for the same quality and features.

After talking to several people (brett included)...I think I've decided to buy a tablet instead.

Now -- I need a tablet w/ a long battery life, the best camera available, wi-fi supported (4g isn't necessary), and having a USB port (either standard or mini-) is necessary.

I'm looking at the new Asus Lexus 7. Anyone have one? or another tablet they'd recommend?

That's a good tablet. Don't film the baby coming out of the vagina. If you watch that you have already filmed it enough in your head, unless you are a freak and want other people to see that. My advice, keep your face on the gentleman's side of the sheet and focus your eyes on your woman's pupils of rage.

Lol - the need for a camcorder/tablet is focused more on once the baby is home -- but solid advice either way ;)

For those that have the iPad 2 -- what do you love and what do you loathe about it?

I have it, it's fine. I also have an Android Tablet and it is fine as well.

iPad is popular, apps usually cost, easy to use
Android apps are usually free, a touch harder to use than the iPad but not much, costs a lot, lot less

Can you even buy a camcorder that doesn't upload to a computer?

Which Android tablet do you have? Tab? Nexus?

I just got a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 for Christmas and got my kids a Nexus 7. I like both. The Galaxy has some cool tricks and I like using the S-pen sometimes. The Nexus has a nice screen and I like the purer android it runs because its more similar to my phone.

I havent had time to learn a ton about them but id answer any questions I can about them.

I will say, the camera/camcorder arent great. In low light they leave a lot to be desired. Especially the camcorder. For a quick pic here and there theyre fine but for taking lots of pics and videos I'm not sure I'd be too impressed.

I have an Asus 10.1 Uhm...Dang. I don't recall the exact model. I know mine is about 4 months old and discontinued. I love Asus products and have yet to have a failure on them or know of anyone that has.
