My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Toledo Rockets
So, I'm looking to buy a camera that I can take with me places to take pictures with as I'm tired of using my Blackberry for doing that. It will be more or less for taking pictures at sporting events. Megapixels don't have to be awesome, but noting less than 8 and with a really, really great zoom. If I am in the upper tank I can zoom into players as if I'm 10 feet away.

I'll hang up and listen for your answers.

You don't need to spend 1k on a dslr right away.

I spent approx 500 and got basically what I need other than specialty lenses. Which I can buy those as time goes on.

They are expensive but they easily put point and shoots to shame.. The lens quality is easily millions of times better.

So if you can afford it.. I'd go with a dslr. Heck you can even go with an older body and a newer lens. That could save you some cash and you'll still be destroying almost anything a point and shoot does.

I own a D3000 for my dslr
The point and shoot I have is a L100. Which hasn't seen the light of day in a long time.

The CoolPix is awesome. If you want something a little better, look for Nikons or Olympus. They're the best.
