That seems to be the compensation Bears were looking for when they were looking to trade him mid season but now he's had a career high season Steelers and 49ers are teams that would take a hard look at him.

Or they can sign an excellent homegrown player that has earned it…

The DB group is the strength of this team at this point in time. I think it is utterly foolish to suggest the trade.

In addition to that, you are suggesting that the return is a first rounder, which was the hook for Minkah Fitzpatrick, or Darrell Revis a few years prior.

It's foolish to force someone to play where they refuse to stay. I'd love to see Bears keep JJ but if he hates it here in Chicago and is going to do everything in his power to leave.

Poles has stated a few times that JJ will be signed to a multi year contract, as he should be.

Hopefully, worst case scenario is Bears have to trade him just looking at the worst case scenario and what the outcome could be.

He doesn’t hate it here and has said he wants to stay here. He also wants to be paid top dollar. This has nothing to do with not liking it here or forcing anyone to play here. It’s about money

Jaylon's RAS must not be that amazing. If so, Poles would've had him re-signed months ago.

That aside, business is business. Players want to be paid what they've earned. This doesn't mean he doesn't want to be here. What it means is he's worked hard and values himself at a value higher than what Poles does and they're trying to find common ground. This is essentially always the case when signing someone.

Direct from JJ’s mouth…

“I just couldn’t see myself anywhere else,” Johnson said in January. "It’s easy to say, oh, you want out of somewhere until you get it and then it’s like, ‘Ah, this may not be quite what I want.’ But I would say for me, I want to stay here and I want to not make that transition now.

I feel like we’re building something special too, especially with the guys in the locker room. I mean, it's something I can’t get anywhere else. I would like to stay and continue to build, make it better. And (shoot), I want to win some games and get to the playoffs and make a push with the Chicago name too.”

JJ saying he likes it in Chicago means literally nothing. It's all just public relations it'll look bad on him for saying I hate the city of Chicago.

Only JJ knows what's going on in JJ's world don't read too much into fluff pieces.

I agree Johnson’s opinion on his situation and his deal don’t mean nearly as much as your vapid speculation.

If only JJ knows what he's going to do why do think he wants to leave?

Also fluff pieces don't usually use direct quotes from the source to create their fluff.

My speculation is we don't know what's going on. Why is this upsetting you?

I don't think he wants to leave, I'm just saying we don't know. Players say they want to stay all the time without meaning it I wouldn't read that much into it.

Read it again it says someone! I'm not calling JJ someone just saying if someone (NOT JJ) wants to leave they'll do what they can to leave.

It's foolish to force someone to play where they refuse to stay.

I'm saying someone I am not referring to JJ just saying if someone wants to leave they will.

Read where I say If. Do you know what "If' means?
