Anybody who has taken a public speaking class or anything, did it help you with speaking in front of large amounts of people? Even smaller groups of people, etc? Do you like or hate talking in large groups of people?

Do you get nervous and fux shit up like this hoe. Some people are pretty comfortable speaking in front of others, I have no problem with it. If it's people I don't know, I have no trouble at all. If it's people I know, I get nervous but don't do what that girl did lol.

I have really no problem speaking in front of people. I tend to talk a little fast, but I don't have much problem.

I have taken a few classes on it as well, but I did public speaking via 4-H well before college.

i rock at it. I have a performance degree in music so i have no problem getting up in front of large groups of people and making a fool of myself, either by playing music or talking at them. In fact i rather enjoy doing it. Its a badass feeling.

No problem... Unless you're unprepared then it is horrifying.

I used to have issues. I would literally be so nervous that my words jittered as they came out of my mouth. After a few promotions in the army, I found myself marching bigger and bigger groups of soldiers, to the point where it was just a switch I could hit in my head. Then I was a general manager for a large company, I had to talk in front of thousands of people I didn't know once a week. By sometime I had execs asking me to speak in front of others, because they liked how I performed. I never ever thought that its something I could get over, but I guess I did. The more you do it, the easier it gets.

It depends on what im talking about but i generally have no problem with speaking in front of groups. But for some odd reason, i get nervous and panic when i have to make phone calls to people i dont know personally.

Even a research presentation?

Definitely! Improv is much much better. I don't think it's even close.

When you speak on a topic that is judged on fact-finding and pure information, you can use sensory improvisation to gauge the climate of the audience. One way or another, a good speaker WILL adjust their speech. Full on improv gives you full control. It's a double edged sword that can bite inexperienced speakers in the butt, because you still have to be well researched and fully prepared.
