Just found out about this...this is the last AMC dealership; it closed in 1988. Collier Motors in Pikesville, NC. Appears it was essentially just closed up and fenced in when AMC finally went under. Apparently AMC geeks are pulling the cars out now for parts, and are reported to be in better condition than one might expect...for those unaware, American Motors was formed in 1954 by merging Nash and Hudson in an attempt for these small automakers to keep up with the Big 3.

My only expereince with AMC was a small hardware store owner at Belmont st in Chicago owned a 68 AMC. I knew nothing about the car but thought it was beautiful and would just stare at it in the parking lot
