They really could not count on Rodon. His durability is always a question. Now they need two more starters...Giolito, Lynn, and Cease aren't enough....Kopech is an unknown as a starter, Keuchel can't be counted on as a reliable fifth starter for a team with WS aspirations.
I think he'll be OK after a full season where it looks like the lack of playing full seasons caught up to him at the end...that said, at the price, I think I'm comfortable letting him move on. Still leaves the Sox in a position to need two starters. They really could not count on Rodon. His durability is always a question.
It’s time to take the bubble wrap off Kopech. I can live with Dallas or Lopez as the 5th guy.I think he'll be OK after a full season where it looks like the lack of playing full seasons caught up to him at the end...that said, at the price, I think I'm comfortable letting him move on. I think Castellanos would fit better as a DH right now. Would love to see just bat on the Sox, though. I agree about Kopech, I think he breaks out this year. I don't really trust Cease, but he might be a #4 and you can live with that. It’s time to take the bubble wrap off Kopech. I can live with Dallas or Lopez as the 5th guy.
I want a real bat for right field like Castellanos.
They should have gotten ahead of this with 2 or 3 years before last season...but yeah with his injuries it didn't align. Keuchel fell off unexpectedly, and Kopech held himself out and set himself back. They really could not count on Rodon. His durability is always a question.
