Well, even if he wants to come here, I don't know how it would work via trade. I mean, the salaries could work if you shipped off Deng-Taj-Johnson-Picks, but are Taj Gibson and James Johnson enough to make Denver ok with taking on Deng's deal? I'm excluding the notion of the picks here because I would assume they would be present in both the Deng-Noah and Deng-et al scenarios.
Like I have said many times, it would be great if the Bulls could keep Noah, but I don't know if Taj and Johnson would be enough. And I know people are fond of saying "well, they might get desperate near the deadline", but when you look at it, the Nuggets have to choose between being tied down financially for a good bit longer (in taking on Deng's deal, attachments regardless) and hoping whomever they receive from the Bulls (in players or low-slotted picks) pans out, or letting Melo go for nothing save for financial freedom. I think that if the best offer out there turns out to be the Bulls with "more salary cap hell with two forwards that may or may not be worthwhile in the long-term and low-slotted draft picks", they would do well just to let Melo play out his deal and take the financial freedom.
