I had a younger cat that would wake me up at 3, 4, 5 oclock in the morning, by loudly scampering around the room and on my bed (there were no mice or other animals). I think she meant to wake me, but just to play, not for food or a house fire.
I'd chastiser her, but that didn't dissuade her. Had to close my bedroom door with her out of the room. Then the door scratching and meowing started. Had to block the door with cans of paint, which worked fine, quiet separation achieved.
I would have been happy to have the cat sleep at the foot of the bed, or somewhere else in the room, but constantly waking me up was not acceptable.
Anybody ever come across that issue and have any luck with a solution?
