Catholic friar, suggests sometimes the victims in sex abuse cases are at fault. I don't give a shit if they do attempt to seduce you, you're the adult for fucks sake have some goddamn self control. For some reason, Groeschel launched into his disturbing remarks about child sex abuse.



The priest suggested that kids “looking for a father figure” make overtures to adults such as clergymen or coaches.



“People have this picture in their minds of a psychopath,” Groeschel said, referring to pedophiles. “But that’s not the case.



“Suppose you have a man having a nervous breakdown, and a youngster comes after him,” he continued. “A lot of the cases, the youngster — 14, 16, 18 — is the seducer.”

It's the same issue that Theo Fleury's hockey coach had, some scout leaders, Jerry Sandusky, the uncle no one talks about at holidays, and basically anyone else that has issues with fucking kids.

Absolutely this issue transcends any institution and so do the cover-ups. The cover-ups are obviously due to the public and potentially monetary impacts, but the reasons as to why the molestations occur has little to do with the institutions. However, I do think reducing stressors or situations that help foster those on the fence can only help.
