Didn't see a thread so I thought I'd throw one up. Nice episode guys. It was great to hear your take Fred on this whole situation since Mark & I have been going back & forth about it since it happened. Worst choke job in 13 years. God, It was one of the most painful, frustrating, & infuriating games I've watched in sports since game 6 of the '03 MLB NLCS. And oddly enough both games featured the teams coaches sitting on their hands while the games quickly slipped away from them. Oh how history often repeats itself.

I'm echoing Marks sentiments about the game on Saturday as well. I'm not really in the mood to shell out my hard earned bucks so I can line the pockets of the man truly responsible for this whole catastrophe, Mr. High Pants himself Jerry Reinsdork. As for the whole 3 stooges thing if we do go to the game, I don't know. I thought Mark's first idea was better...to stand naked in front of the UC with Fire Vinny written across his chest. Billboards shmillboards, that's real fan dedication right there.

A Happy Christmakwanzakah to all.

Another spot on show from you guys. Fred and Mark you do a great job, I wish I would have found out about your podcasts before this forum went up. I think you guys do an amazing job.

On to a point you brought up. I think it is time to boycott the franchise. I have been doing it for a couple of years now, ever since we had the chance to pick up Gasol for nothing. The sentiment started when we signed Ben Wallace and immediately traded TC for an expiring but it fully hit home when we failed to pay the LT for Gasol and reappeared again when BG didn't get signed. I personally haven't bought tickets to a game the past couple of years specifically because I question our commitment to winning. I even put up a thread here to boycott the team after BG signed with the Pistons. The only game I am going to this year, is one that I bought tickets to was because my friend really wanted to go to his first bulls game and all the proceeds of the tickets go to charity. Otherwise I was looking for tickets in Milwaukee for when they play us, so JR wouldn't get his greedy hands on my money. It is time to boycott the team and I like the little grass roots movement Fred is trying to start.

Good luck with the boycott fellas...to that I say "hell naw" though I haven't been in over 10 years anyway...if you feel that management is not doing right, boycotting is an option I guess...again good luck...

You all will probably have as much luck as this guy did...

Nope...but that is part of life. Who likes what management anywhere does? Management's job is to make unpopular decisions. Just think the waiting list is too long and the marketing behind the Bulls is too good to really care if any part of the fan's base are so unhappy that they boycott. Its a fly on an elephant's ass...

That's not the point. Sure no team cares if any 1 person boycotts. It's about personal choice.

I'm not gonna support a team that doesn't care about winning. And I'm not gonna support them with my dollars. Sure it doesn't matter to the franchise, but you save some money.

I boycotted the Cubs for 7 years. And did it matter to the Cubs, hell no. They can raise the tix prices to 200 bucks and still have people waiting to buy them. But for me personally I'm happy I did that.

The only reason I went to Wrigley this year is to take my son to 2 games. I also had a friend that got free tix and took me with. But I have no plans on buying tickets this year or anytime soon.

As far as the Bulls, I don't plan and spending my money to support this team. If other people want to go, that's fine. It's just my own personal choice.

I'll still watch the games on TV but I won't use my money (clothes, tix) to support them.

As for the franchises, that's one of the benefits of having a team in the 3rd largest market in the US. There's a lot of people to go to your games. And there's tradition here so you have a solid fan base that grew up watching these teams. You couldn't pull off the crap JR and Trib company has done in other cities where they just don't care about sports as much, or the teams are too new and haven't built that tradition.

Unfortunately the owners in this town, JR and formerly tribune, take full advantage of that. Operate like a small market but rake in the big market profits.
