I've had 2 in my lifetime. These were really big in 1986 then they quickly died out and were out of fashion by 1987. I bought a second one on my honeymoon in Hawaii and wore it once.

OK, I will! As a fashion choice I think they're basically a no-no (esp. with light jeans. . .gah!) except when going to a Hawaiian/Polynesian themed event. Nevertheless, I will also concede that some of the actual older ones which would be considered "vintage" today were made really well and with actual attention to some kickass design detail and flair---they are rightly expensive as collectibles.

Hilo Hatties is actually doing a contest to win $ and a trip there as well if you design one... I still golf in one from time to time as they are loose fitting (even for a fat guy like me), have a collar and are fairly cool when it's 90000 degrees out.

Don't have official "Aloha" shirts, but own several similar type shirts with palm trees, flowers, ect. I have 10 or so "Guayabera" or similar cuban/latin style linen shirts which I prefer during the summer. May not be the most fashionable choices but I quit worrying about that long ago, opting to be cool and comfortable. Summers in South Texas are brutal. Was 105F today while mowing the lawn. It will probably cool down to 85 overnight. We had rain showers on Thursday, but not nearly enough to make a difference.
