Do many of you have problems with losing signal while at the UC, especially between periods when everyone is on their phone? Between periods our phones (AT&T) go into "Searching...", and stay that way until the period begins. Do people with Verizon or other carriers have this problem too?

We have iPhones, and now that Verizon is getting it, we're debating a switch. I don't want to change carriers then find out I'm going to be dropping calls left and right and can't even send a text message between periods while at the UC.

(I don't make calls at the UC typically)

6 of one...... However, your question seems more to do with a specific location so I'll leave it up to the 21,00+ people who attend the UC regularly to answer that part. In my 10+ years of traveling the USA I have found that none of the carriers really stand out head and shoulders above the rest. I have Sprint personally, but have had most of the other carriers for my work cell phone. You will find instances where one will get a signal and the other won't but it isn't consistent enough to rate coverage. The general consensus is that Verizon has the best coverage in the USA, but don't take that to mean that you will ALWAYS get a signal when you want it.

With all that said, if you don't travel the USA, just find the best carrier where you will be. I am starting to figure that the Boost/Virgin/MetroPCS deals where it is $50/month unlimited everything is the best deal around. Sure, the phones are limited, but they are adding new phones to those prepaid unlimited packages all the time.

Personally, I have never really had an issue with reception in the UC with Verizon.

I believe Verizon works quite well there.

They may even have antennas in the building.

I know that Demon's and Getinthere's phones work quite well in the K1 Club.

Verizon had done advertising for years so there are signal boosters all over the building. When the Dems were coming they put At&t boosters in there. I don't think as many as verizon though as my At & t was always iffy while my verizon now always works.

I have a blackberry with Sprint for personal use and a blackberry with AT&T for business. I have no problems with the Sprint phone but I'm never able to get a call out from my seats using my AT&T phone.
