Is this a WIP or did you forget Graham under TE/ calling your shot that he's cut?

So, it was reported on Twitter that the Bears "were not exercising Massie's option"

But I don't understand. First, I didn't even know there was an option in his contract. Secondly, he was due to have a 9.3M cap hit in 2021 according to spotrac. His dead cap was 2.6M. Meaning there should be a 6.7M savings for cutting him before June 1. I don't understand why it would only save the Bears 5M+ and not 6.7M. If there was an option vs. cut, then why wouldn't they just cut him and save more? I thought I had a good grasp of how contracts work, but this has me lost.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
20mil over the cap, and barring any draft pick trades, about 6.5mil needed for the rookie pool.
Those restructures and extensions should be a coming.
ya think?

I like the entire depth chart except what you put right after QB....

Pace has his work cut out for him in the draft, that is for sure.

Also how do you like the entire depth chart and follow up by saying he has his work cut out for him in the draft. If all they need is a qb then it is pretty simple that they just trade up as high as they can to get one of them

My comments were before the Fuller cut.. but besides QB we have some good personnel groupings.

I think our WR/TE group is good with Robinson and Mooney. If Mooney develops that is a legit #1 and #2. We have a good backfield with Cohen coming back.

Defensively, with Goldman back that's an extremely strong front 7.

The roster is not full of bums, it just has some holes. Hence why I said Pace has his work cut out for him, because he has to fill some holes. He has got to find a starting tackle and probably a starting corner now, and some fresh blood at QB. That's a very tall order for one draft.

But yes I know, saying anything positive about the Bears after they failed to trade for Wilson or Watson is forbidden on the board right now.

Updated, it is gross.

Yea, not really sure what Pace is trying to do here.

I understood most of his decisions in the past, this offseason has leaving me scratching my head.

If you needed cash hicks and jimmy graham should have been the ones to go, not fuller. Fuller should have been extended.

Also, after Pace took money away from the defense I figured he would reallocate it to the offense. Haven't seen that done yet.
