The evolution of Kevin White

With Allen Robinson going through rehab on his knee from the ACL injury he suffered last year, Kevin White has received plenty of opportunities to run with the first-team offense so far this offseason. There has also been plenty of praise for the former first-round pick. White has struggled with injuries throughout his career and has appeared in just five games over the course of the last three seasons.

Head coach Matt Nagy has gone above and beyond to compliment White and this minicamp will be yet another chance to see if White will take advantage of the opportunity that is in front of him.

Allen Robinson's health

Robinson has spent the majority of this year's OTA sessions on the sidelines as he rehabs from his ACL injury. Last week in the final OTA session that was open to the media, Robinson was spotted out on the field for the first time participating in individual drills. When asked about Robinson's progress, Nagy was happy with the direction he is heading but the team is not willing to push it just yet with him.

Nagy said he did not think Robinson would participate in team drills during minicamp. Even so, it will be worth monitoring how much he continues to do work in individual drills.

The return of Zach Miller

The Bears surprised some on Monday by re-signing tight end Zach Miller to a one-year deal worth the veteran minimum. He will make at least $458,000 and could earn up to $790,000 if he is actually able to play. Miller suffered a devastating knee injury last season and it was believed at the time that he could have lost his leg due to amputation. Luckily the doctors were able to get Miller back right, but the road back to this spot has not been easy for him.

It seems highly unlikely Miller will ever play again, but it was a great gesture on Chicago's part to bring him back. He will meet with the media on Tuesday for the first time since re-signing with the team.

Leonard Floyd's progress

Like Robinson, Leonard Floyd is also returning from a knee injury this offseason. Chicago has been taking it slow with him but he appears to be a bit more advanced than Robinson at this point. Floyd has a lot of extra pressure added on his shoulders this year following the releases of Pernell McPhee and Willie Young. With that duo gone, Floyd assumes the role as the team's No. 1 pass-rusher.

The three-day minicamp should be a good gauge on where he currently stands how likely he will be able to participate at 100 percent in training camp.

How the rookies are adapting

The Bears have a draft class this year that is expected to have some major contributors. Linebacker Roquan Smith is set to be a starter at inside linebacker, and is already getting reps there, but second-round picks James Daniels and Anthony Miller have been seemingly quiet through the OTA sessions. Daniels continues to receive work with the second-team offense at left guard and reps at center with the third team.

As for Miller, it is a bit harder to gauge where he sits on the depth chart right now with some many wideouts circling in and out of the lineup while Nagy tries to determine the best fits at a variety of different wideout spots in his system.

The education of Mitch Trubisky

The quarterback is always the star of the show when it comes to NFL teams. For the Bears that is especially the case this offseason with second-year signal-caller Mitch Trubisky. The praise has come from every direction in recent months. Nagy has spoken glowingly. Defensive back Prince Amukamara noted Trubisky is one of the reasons why he re-signed with the team.

Mandatory minicamp is just another step forward for Trubisky and how he is going to fit in this system moving forward. These next few days will be his last chance to throw to his wideouts in a controlled environment before training camp opens in the middle of next month.

Tarik Cohen's progress in Nagy's system

Nagy claimed during the first OTA session that Tarik Cohen makes him giddy. It was obvious, just by the way the new head coach was talking, that he is excited to see what Cohen can do in his system this season. Chicago can use him in a variety of different ways, not just out of the backfield as a running back.

In this final session it will be worth noting exactly how much Cohen is seen lining up in the backfield and how often Chicago opts to line him up out of the slot or even on the outside because of his speed and great hands.

What's next?

After the final minicamp practice concludes on June 7, the Bears will essentially have a month-plus off before the start of training camp. Once again the team will be heading down to Bourbonnais, Illinois for camp on the campus of Olivet Nazarene University. The Bears will report on July 19 and the first team practice will be on July 20. The first practice open to the media will be on July 21.

The Bears will hold 11 practices open to the public with the final session taking place at Ward Field at night between 7:10 and 9:00 p.m. The Bears will also practice with the Denver Broncos in August ahead of their preseason tilt. Chicago is starting camp earlier this year than usual because of the team's inclusion in the Hall of Fame Game on August 2, just days ahead of Brian Urlacher's induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 4.

Basically the same storylines we've been talking about all off season. There won't be much to talk about until the preseason games start, and we can actually see where these guys stand without the usual back-patting and turd polishing of OTA pressers.

Oooh practicing against Denver. We'll see very quickly how that offensive line holds up, assuming Von Miller practices.
