As training camp approaches and fan frenzy reaches another high, the Chicago Blackhawks enter this season with more to prove than they did a season ago.

It was the Fall of 2009 and the voices were pretty clear about the disgust towards the goaltending options. The off-season acquisition of Marian Hossa undoubtedly wouldn’t distract critics as he would miss basically the first two months of the season and the defense wasn’t as solidified as it is entering this season.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Fire
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Arizona Wildcats
Spot on!

Our top 4 D-men are probably the best top 4 in the NHL

Anyone who says Turco will have a worse year than last year are crazy.

The prospects Bowman got back in his trades were amazing....I cant wait to see some of them become huge contributors

Great article, I agree with the points you made. To me this season is not about how we look in the regular season because unless we have an inordinate amount of key injuries this season we have a playoff spot locked up. I fully expect a slow start to the season with the new players building chemistry and finding their roles amongst the remaining core of our team and our short off season. Based off talent alone we are still the best team in the western conference but the important aspect to the season is making sure we are healthy and playing our strongest hockey going into the post season. I am also really excited and interested in what players will secure third and fourth line roles on the team and who will lock up spots on the third defensive pairing.

Sums up my feelings pretty dead on ... (I won't predict what Bowman got back - but I am very interested in seeing them in action - as I have a feeling that he knew exactly what he was doing).

It also doesn't hurt that with baseball being dead to me, the Bears looking like -well ... not so great ... it might be all I've actually got. :D
