So.............. NBC shows the pride that the fans have for our national anthem

during the televising of Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals. It brings a question to mind....

Jim Cornelison belted out his wonderful, booming rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner.



The crowd yelled, screamed and clapped through the entire thing. It's something the fans started doing because they were so pumped up before a 1985 Campbell Conference playoff game against the Edmonton Oilers, and have continued it ever since.



And it makes my skin crawl every time I hear it.

Wow. What a complete bunch of nonsense. Taking the anthem at a hockey game and turning it into some political outcry is sooooooo 2008.
