The A's offense is absolute shit, just like the Cubs. Hopefully the Cubs can take advantage of their horrendous offense and win the series

Expect to see a lot of Jeff Baker and Xavier Nady in this series with two lefties starting for Oakland. It'll be interesting to see what Lou does with Tyler Colvin. I'm curious if he'll start either game against Dallas Braden and Gio Gonzalez.

Cahill has been pretty good this year, but hopefully that exciting win Sunday night will give us some momentum and we can start a winning streak against ALOT of below average teams

There may be a total of 7 runs scored in this series by both teams....

Or, one team could get a wild-hair up their ass and put 12 up in one game.

When comparing the two teams...the Cubs have the better starters...and as long as Marshall, Cashner and Marmol pitch are bullpen is better...

We SHOULD win this series...on paper...

We'll see.

Saw an interesting stat somewhere that the last time the Cubs started out 28-35 was in 2007...when they won the NL Central. Maybe we can get it done again? Possibly? Maybe?

The A's just traded for Conor Jackson. Not a big move but just thought I would bring it up.

This team has nowhere near the talent the 2007 team did. That team was picked to win the division by a lot of analysts from the start. No one was picking the Cubs this preseason. So I wouldn't be expecting that kind of turnaround. But you never know. Lee and Ramirez could turn it around and Colvin and Castro could push Heyward and Strasburg for Rookie of the Year and that's what it would take. At the very least. A near Cy Young turnaround from Zambrano or a new level from Dempster or Lilly may be a must as well.

I was just going to mention the A's trade for Conor Jackson today. This is interesting on a lot of levels. Jackson doesn't have a ton of pop, but does have a very pure stroke. I'm curious as to where he is going to play. He's been playing left in Arizona, but came up as a 1st baseman. The A's should be getting back Coco Crisp soon and he go immediately to center and the top of the linuep. Ryan Sweeney is locked in right and Jack Cust holds the only bit of power on that team at DH. When Crisp does come back Rajai Davis, who has come on of late would slide from center to left and share time with Gabe Gross and Eric Patterson. Daric Barton is currently the A's 1st baseman. I'm guessing their not sold on him for a pennant race and this trade seems to me to say the A's aren't selling. I thought they would this season having Ben Sheets to deal, but maybe not. The West has fallen back and is mediocre. Even at a game under .500 they're only a couple out. They'll be an interesting team to watch come the deadline.

I hope we lose every day the rest of the season, as long as Lou and Hendry are gone next year.
