Honestly, Kanye West has production skills that just can't be taught but his music and lyrics are off the charts God Awful. He tries to hard. I could listen to his instrumentals all day but the second he opens up that stupid pie hole of his I'd have to stop.

I used to see this guy play live with his band (the Aquarium Conspiracy), and sometimes solo. He moved to Isreal a while ago, but has recently moved back to the states and lives in Madison. I'm guessing he will be touring around Chicago area soon, though don't know any details.

Agree on the production skills. Disagree on what you say about his lyrics. His lyrics are great, and if you can figure out what they mean and put them together, you'll see. Amazing.

Anyone who doesn't think Kanye is talented needs to take this $20 in my wallet and go buy themselves a clue. His debut was one of the best hip-hop albums of the 2000s. And when you breakdown the laundry list of tracks he's produced or done guest vocals on, he's the best producer of the last 10 years, and frankly, it isn't even close.
