Chicago to Mac Race 2014

If you are bored this weekend and looking for some slow paced and “exciting” sailboat action, I will be doing the, non-stop, race to Mackinac Island on the good ship Mojo; and we are feeling good mojo for this race!

If there are issues with that link you can also get updates here: http://www.cycracetomackinac.com ). Mojo is in the Benetau 40.7 section (Ben 40.7) and we are expecting to have up to 13 competitors in our section.

If you find yourself at Navy Pier tomorrow around 11:30am you can wish us luck as we parade past the end of the pier for our check-in, and perhaps be able to see our start at 12:30pm.

After the 2 deaths 3 years ago the safety requirements have gone to the extreme. Looks like there will be a high over most of the lake so this will be a slooooooow one. Good thing we bring "beverages", as we may get there in time to just leave and not ravage the island of all of it's booze, fudge, women, and bicycles.

Depending on where we end up crossing to get to the Michigan side you either see the Cliffs of Insanity or the Emerald Castle. I am always prepared for both comments...if I am away and there is enough sunlight.

Well, have had better races and did not finish last. HAD some followed the plan, when it was their shift, we would have been in top of the section... Oh was a good time, now to have a shower and get shit faced.
