Well folks I got 24 more hours in the great state of Illinois left and I'm gonna post my thoughts of my time out here. I had 3 weeks off from coaching football and these last 2 weeks were just pure joy! Visited a majority of the historical places such as the Water Tower, the Sears Tower, the Hancock Tower, Navy Pier while seeing all of the major sport sites United Center, Soldiers Field, Comiskey Park II(yes I know its the Cell) and Wrigley Field. Even got to sit down and eat at Diktas and The Billy Goat Tavern which was awesome stuff.
Saw the Bears first day in pads, was suppose to see the Sox game last Wednesday but the girl I was suppose to go with had a family emergency, saw the Cubs game today and now I await to see a Bears game, a Blackhawks game and a Bulls game. Which is why during my winter break I HOPE to come out here even though the weather will be "warm" and it will be snowy and such but thats still a question in the air that I need to talk with my family about. If it goes well, HELLO UNITED CENTER AND SOLDIERS FIELD.............if not than guess its NFL on FOX with ESPN, abc7, TNT, NHL Network, NBC Sports Network to cover my NBA and NHL needs.
The people here were just the nicest people I have ever met! Now that right there makes me really wanna stay but that junior varsity offense at my high school ain't gonna coach itself or call the plays! The city was very crowded especially at the Wrigleyville Area but just whenever I had a question I wanted to know from someone who lived out here about the city really responded in the nicest way ever. Back in the LBC? People would show you the wrong direction or try to mug ya but they have their nice folks here and there.
The one main reason why I came out here? My father of course. Back in January, job searching out in Cali was not going well and it appeared that a move back to the Windy City was imminent. When February 13th hit, it became a reality. 5 months without the man that got me into all things Chicago, the sports I love and the ability to get the ladies and be the nice guy really hurt. Was I surprised? I expected something was gonna happen, but it was sooner than later.
Now I have to wait again but in all honesty I'm very much homesick. Gotta get back on an airplane back to LAX will be a PAIN IN THE ASS because of where its located and the traffic that is there. Do you expect anything less from a city of 6 million people? Cannot wait to see you again Chicago! Hell I might be coming out there for Broadcasting School(dont know which one yet) and also hoping to find some kind of a part-time job there as well just to keep me busy.
Next time when I'm out there I hope to meet the people of the best site ever.........ChiCitySports.com
