I don't understand the thought process that went into believing he's worth (what they knew would be) a high 2nd round pick.

Just look at the offseason. He went after bums for the oline and wanted to over pay a dt in a give away year. The draft was meh too. This is just another George clown show

I hope he does very well and I'm proven wrong. But on paper the value didn't seem to be there. I understand that more than one team made offers but that is not a reason in and of itself to overpay. We shall see.

I see the point if they have a contract extension agreed to in principle. That pick needed to be a WR anyway so this gets him here sooner and they will have a higher comfort level next year. However if he leaves in free agency after 2023 it's a huge waste.

Can't judge anyone yet. This is just getting started. This staff does not even have the players need to play their system yet. And they are calling bad plays to lose. By the end of next season we will know.

I really don't get it.
Yup. Think you gotta even wait until next season to really judge him. I think him and fields have good potential

I'm on the fence about this move myself. I think I would rather have the cheap team control on an early 2nd round pick(Essentially a late 1st). I know trash WR FA, inflated market, yada yada, etc... I figure either way Fields will have to get chemistry with the new WR, whether it's Claypool, a 1st/2nd round WR, or maybe some guy they acquired through Trade or FA.

I have no doubt Claypool would look better up north, but Rodgers can turn chicken shit into chicken noodles. They have better structure in GB for player development (At least offensively).

I wasn’t a fan once I heard it’s was the Bears 2nd rd pick and not Baltimores. Poles might have trouble identifying WR talent
