He is deserving of it in my opinion so far. If thibs keeps the bulls rolling like this history will be made, again.

He does deserve it. Any coach who can win consistently without your star is a hell of a coach.

Here's my take on it

Chicago Bulls Round Up: Thibodeau Repeat Coach of The Year?

Do you guys think he will get it? I think he should but no coach has done it back to back I wonder if it will change this year?

If the season ended right now, I don't see why he shouldn't deserve it.
He has maintained the best record in the league a second consecutive year even with all the injuries..No matter the problem, he has his guys playing the best basketball in the league.............He already broke 1 record this year, why can't he break another...
Thibbs deserves all the credit in the world...
And as much as I can't stand Pax-Gar at times, I think they deserve recognition as well, especially for landing Thibbs here in the first place.....Not to mention keeping this group together despite the pressure to make trades....I guess I've learned that maybe it is best to stand pat at times, especially when we are WINNING........

Vogel doesn't deserve it

Pop would get my vote but only because he is my favorite coach in the league. In a lockout shorten season I find it kind of hard to decide. But I have been saying forever CHI is a hell of a team with or without Rose because they defend. Deng is a lot better than most think when you can move the ball on offense and defend you will win a lot of games.

Main reason I though Dwight Howard should of won MVP last year. Without Howard they aren't a playoff team they are a bottom feeder without Rose I still think the Bulls are at a Indiana Pacers level.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bulls
My bias says Thibs. But I am old school, in the sense where I like when coaches win, in a scenario where they prove to be the most improved team with little/no argument that suggests their success is due to an added player.

But this year there is no clear cut "most improved" type of team. Last year, it was Collins over Thibs for team improvement, but Thibs is a better coach top to bottom. Bias aside, I have a hard time saying anyone is doing better than Thibs this year, and he's going to get HUGE props for helping us weather the storm of injuries.

Corbin deserves a LOT of credit for Utah managing everything that has happened with that franchise and bring a competitor every night. If the Jazz can make a run for 6th seed, then he is in the running. But I think if Corbin were to win, that would be a HUGE slap in the face of Sloan, so I doubt he'll get it in a weak season just because of loyalty reasons.

My rankings right now.
#1 Thibs
#2 Collins
#3 Pop
#4 McHale
#5 Vogel
#6 Corbin

2 years of winning and doing it despite injuries to starters and key role players, I would assume the CoY award is not much more than a formality at this point for Thibbs. He may even win 6th man of the year also.

On another note....

Wow! I'm amazed at your growth scottie. With all of the clamoring from Bulls fans to trade for player(s) and acquire FAs not too long ago,
I'm surprised to hear a lot of fans now saying they are pleased that the Bulls FO didn't make any moves. Glad to see more fellow fans actually having confidence in our Bulls.

Love Jimi.
