You need two in-person interviews with Rooney Rule candidates before you can hire anybody.

This shit is going to last a WHILE. Vrabel will be gone by the end of next week at the very latest.

Vrabel is gone by Monday morning at the latest. Might as well just cross him off the list now. This charade will go on until Detroit wins the Super Bowl or loses.

blah blah blah, I am an idiot, blah blah blah.

this was your moronic comment

"If Dan Campbell is so great why does the Lions defense continue to suck?"

if they suck so bad, does that mean KC's defense sucks as well?
My gawd, Andy Reid must be a failure.
You are comparing one of the greatest coaches in the history of the NFL to Dan Campbell. You're so precious. I absolutely adore you.

If we wind up with Johnson, that's fine but I think Jacksonville will give him what he wants (bye bye Trent).

I think Vrabel extends his process (the Pats want it as quick as possible) to get as much leverage he can for himself.

I don't know about Johnson, but there are a lot of people in the NFL that do NOT want Johnson to go there. In short, they don't want the Bears to succeed, and they are actually afraid they might.

I think the NFL itself DOES want the Bears to succeed, because they underperform in a huge market with a rabid fanbase.

Another possibility is that this is the push I told people was coming where Johnson was going to be used as leverage to push Poles out, or at least an attempt will be made.

Still another is that this came from Johnson's own agent, but isn't true, but got put out there to get leverage in potential negotiations.

We will see how it all shakes out, but most serious people seem to see the writing on the wall as the Bears and Johnson being the most likely pairing, followed by Pete Carroll, and a surprise candidate is the Bears trading for Shannahan (longshot, but its still out there, despite Lynch shooting it down).

Matt Campbell is he related to Dan? Can we just call him Coach Temu?

I don’t even know what’s real or fake anymore. Supposedly they have 16 interviews lined up but just announced they completed an interview with Vrabel, but that’s the only one they announced.

Are these supposed virtual interviews happening one per day over the next 16 days?

That year was horrible. Bowles has turned out to easily be the best. He can find OCs like no other apparently.

I don't know if I'd say Bowles was the best. There were talks of him getting fired if the Bucs missed the playoffs this year. Most of their fans seem to want to move on anyway.

I'd pick Dan Quinn over Bowles. But the rest of that list was pretty trash.

I guess rumors of him being selective and only taking interviews for jobs he'd take can't be true... unless he'd really consider the Raiders. That would be wild to me. They have all the dysfunction and lack of success we do, but also with 12 head coaches in the last 20 years. They don't even have a QB in hand. To boot, he needs to face Reid, Harbaugh, and Payton twice a year each.

Yeah, with how selective he reportedly has been... the Raiders choice is a head scratcher for the reasons you listed. He may just want to have a chat and see what their (Brady's) plan is. Brady has spent so much time on podcasts talking about the importance of letting things develop. I know they just fired Pierce after one year, but he likely showed he was way in over his head, like Mayo.

I'm guessing the Bears are interviewing everyone because they won't be making a quick decision giving that one of their, if not top, target in Ben Johnson won't be really available until DET is out of the playoffs or wins the SB
