I wouldn't be mad if McCarthy is the pick for HC. Atleast he would make it his priority to beat the packers every year. All depends on who his pick for DC would be.

Everyone we bring anything over from that dump it ends up being a disaster. I don’t want their left overs, yes this is a meatball take and I do not apologize for it.

Here's the issue with that.

Ever since his first year with the Lions, Ben has been a hot name. Other teams have tried just throwing money at him. He stayed in Detroit.

Ben's camp has made it CLEAR he is not leaving for a money grab. It has to be the right situation. If that still holds true, and we have no reason to doubt it because Ben's turned teams down left and right the last couple off-seasons, then the Raiders are a poor fit, no matter how much they offer.

Johnson routinely was rumored to want alignment with his GM.

Poles is one bad year away from being let go and they kept him on for this search. Johnson getting a fresh GM with the Raiders makes sense.

If they hire Weaver I’ll kill myself.
If he can bring one of the offensive guys from the Dolphins-Bevell or Frank Smith with him, it'd be slightly tolerable.

He could have had Daniels or Maye last year. The right situation for him is control not roster. I think that’s logical to assume at this point. If the Bears want back in Poles needs to give roster control over, doubt he wants to do that.

I get that it would be a troll's wet dream.

But logically?

Why would Ben Johnson go somewhere else if he strongly desires to work with Caleb Williams and already has the pieces in Chicago to run his offense, minus the offensive line?

Seriously.

They have what they need to run Ben's offense at every position minus the offensive line.

There's a reason why Ben was looking at the Bears offense when the Bears and Lions were playing last.
1) Ryan Poles
2) OL
3) DL
4) Ownership is a bunch of clueless leach's

With McCarthy out, wouldn’t you think Jerry might break the bank to bring in Ben Johnson? Davis couldn’t compete with that. **** the Raiders.

Sounds great but you have to win. How does that team compete in that division over the next 3 years? If he is winning 3-6 games and looking like John Schoop he will be fired.

Bears are worst out of all the vacancies because they have the worst organization in all of sports

If Johnson values control the cowboys would be the worst situation imaginable.

Dunno but how's he compete in this division?

Whoever takes the Raiders job is majorly screwed. I don’t care how much Brady is trying to pump them up.

They’re going to be playing 6 games a year against Andy Reid/Patrick Mahomes, Jim Harbaugh/Justin Herbert and Sean Payton/Bo Nix.

They better kill it the rest of their schedule.

If he took this job it’s because he believes in Caleb. He would think he has the best QB in the division and when you have that you have a path to sustained success.

Yeah, but control won’t mean much of anything in Vegas or Jacksonville with those 2 orgs being horse****. In Dallas, your team is pretty much stacked enough every year to at least compete, player management by committee or not.

Again it’s roster vs control. He has to make that choice. If he is smart he will realize if he wins he will get control (Chicago), go earn it. He will never be in control in Dallas, even if he wins 3 Super Bowls.

Every possible hire is a a rebuild of some sort and a possibility that it wont work out. Having said that, Johnson fits the bill cuz he's already very familiar with the NFC North and that in of itself is a hand up on the other candidates. It's more important than some seem to believe.

And...he's not taking this job.

So....he might not believe in Caleb all that much.
