-Defensively the boys were ready to play yesterday. Not only coached up well but they were motivated to play.Secondary did well considering their experience. We have ZERO pass rush and that is a talent issue that will get corrected.

-Offensively, I know people are hating on Getsy but I like him. Fields is developing this season which is what we all wanted to see and Getsy deserves credit for that. His playbook adjustments have helped tremendously. The OL has played better in pass protection.

Poles did an excellent job hiring this staff IMO and it will be interesting to see them with more talent.

Were they ready to play or was Aaron Rodgers terrible for over a half of football?

I'm not sold on Eberflus, Getsy or Williams. More of an incomplete at this point. I was always 'meh' on the Eberflus hire, but holding out hope. If Fields turns the corner, he's going to cover up a lot of coaching errors.

I do think Getsy has done an OK job given the talent he has to work with. The first 4 weeks were rough, but he seems to have adjusted and calling plays to Fields strengths. My gripe with him would be his RZ offense/play calling. Yesterday was really bad. Maybe this is driven by personnel or lackthereof. Alan Williams has obviously been putrid, but again personnel is driving alot of these results.

I had low expectations this year. No amount of 'good' coaching was going to make this team a playoff contender. They have been competitive though despite injuries and lack of talent. We will see how they look next year - big offseason for Poles.

That's fair enough. I mean the big TD run yesterday they should have tackled Fields for a loss. I think you have to credit the staff for Fields looking better though, I mean he looked like a deer in headlights until the Cowboys game. His pocket presence is better and he is starting to make more reads.

Defensively, to have that many starters out and to not have significant missed assignments in coverage was impressive. Those backups were very well coached.

Fields development has been incredible this year when looking at the beginning of the season. Those first 4 games were rough. He wasn't comfortable in the pocket and his short game was putrid. Yesterday, was night and day difference. His pocket presence has improved greatly, he's moving around in the pocket, giving what the D is allowing and making the correct reads. A positive development for sure so yeah, I agree with you the coaching staff should get some credit for that.

Practice squad defense was holding Rodgers to 10 points going into the 4th. Many fans point fingers at the staff when their favorite players aren't executing or aren't consistent.

I'm a very skeptical fan and I have no issue with the coaching staff thus far. A severely depleted team talent-wise has been in most games.

But you can't judge a coaching staff year one. The problems don't surface until year 2 or 3.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Nashville Predators
  1. ETSU Buccaneers
  2. Tennessee Volunteers

Bears now have $35m more in deadcap and IR than active contracts on the field... It's pretty fucking amazing they lead most of the game. Coaching staff is doing good.

I love how for a year and a half Fields' issues were always someone else's fault, but now that he's finally playing like he's not a total bust....his "development has been incredible."

people are hating on getsy for his playcalling at least thats what my problem is with him...he will call some great plays followed by some real headscratchers...also seems to get very conservative when the bears are leading and so not sure if thats a flus thing or getsy... this is getsy's first year as a play caller so hopefully he can gain some consistency and weed out some of those headscratching playcalls

I think Eberflus and Getsy are promising but still have some learning/development to do. Flus really needs to work on his "last 3 minutes of the half/game" coaching.

Williams I think looks worse than he has really been because the team basically stripped the defense and sold them for draft picks, I dont think hes a disaster but also I think this is the coaching position with the biggest opportunity for upgrade. Its a pipe dream but I wish that Sweet Boy George McCaskey had the sense/balls to show up to Vic Fangio's house with a blank check and be unwilling to take No for an answer.

Pretty much agree with your comments, I'm optimistic for now and like the hustle they have, biggest concern is no pass rush, they have to figure it out.

The defense has been horrible since they lost their top players.

No other explanation needed at this point.
