Ok, just bought this Chi-Town greats, pretty much, Greatest Hits #2 the other week. These contain all of my favorites by Common. I never really listened to him before 2000. Though I did take the time to check out "Thisisme: Best Of Common" (2007) not too long ago. This latest disc has great sequence and definitely is a true "best of" disc.

I know most of you are from Chicago, but maybe all of you don't listen to Hip-Hop. Thing is, Common to me is an artist who is easily listenable if you give him a shot. He's still one of the best lyricists out. This disc only defines him as an artist and proves my point about his talent.

If you don't have this.....get it!

CTB's Rating:
Lyrics: 10/10
Beats: 9.5/10
Sequence: 9/10

Overall: 9.5/10

Common was one of my favorite hip hop artists growing up and for a while, he was the only one keeping his music real. But he really disappointed me with his last album, that B-Boy style music. His album before that was really good. The one that had songs like "The People" and "I want you". Im assuming that his last greatest hits included his best song and probably my all time favorite song "I Used To Love H.E.R." and "Resurrection".

His best work was when he was still known as Common Sense. I miss hip hop of those days.

How can this be a true greatest hits album without I Used To Love H.E.R.?

Because this group of tracks is from 2000-2010.

The track ur talkin' about appeared on his "best of" from 1993-1999, "Thisisme: Best Of Common" (2007).

Both "best of" albums dropped due to him switching labels. This first "best of" just happened to get approved in 2007 to be released.
