For all the PC savants, I'm just wondering if there's a site or a place to buy extra PC parts? To be more accurate, I'm looking for the accessories that come with a motherboard, as I bought mine used (womp womp) and the guy didn't include anything, just the mobo itself. So I need like the I/O Shield, SLI connector, driver disc, etc.

Thanks.

For stuff like that. Ebay.

i/o shield is not all that important, but you'll find them on ebay too. If you want to expand your search, just use the reference for the board itself, so if it's a x## chipset/x## socket board, then it's possible that 10 other boards use the same i/o shield(or something compatible with maybe a few more portholes punched). And SLI bridges/cables are fairly standardized, so you could expand your search. Driver disc? Make one yourself, use updated drivers, as the ones the boards ship with are often outdated anyhow.

Also, nothing wrong with second hand parts, as long as you have recourse if the product is bad.

newegg/amazon have spare parts too. Of course, it depends on what you need.

Newegg.... get a Newegg credit account.... there is always a No interest No payments deal for purchases over 500$.... so if you are building or getting a new laptop.... it is easy to put down a purchase at the right time and wait for tax return/bonus/etc to pay it off.... or pay it off at your own pace over 12 months however you like.

Amazon has similar deals on their credit account but its No interest and you gotta make minimum payments each month and make sure you make the payments or I believe it invalidated the deal and the no interest stops.

Yeah the newegg.com deal using billmelater is the bomb shiznity. Barely now paying off a $1500 charge I made like 8 months ago. Paid $800 last month and I will kill the remaining balance next month. Its really convenient to have no interest and no payments for 12 months.

Fry's up north isnt what it used to be. Their selection has gone way downhill in recent years.

I usually am not dealing with separate components, ie motherboard chipsets etc, so when I go into Fry's I am overwhelmed with everything they have. When my wife says let's go shopping I answer if it is Home Depot and Fry's I will race you to the car.
