Ok so last night I turned my computer on and a message came up saying there was a "CPU fan failure!" and the options were press F1 to continue or press F2 for settings. I just turned the computer off and I came on here on my dads iPad. Some guys in the chat told me to vacuum out the fan or blow on it and I tried that but it didn't work I turned the computer on and got the same message. Now I don't really know the details about my computer except that it's anywhere from 3-5 years old. So does anyone know how I can fix this? How much does a replacement cost? And I'm assuming replacing it won't require me to take something out and lose data. Is replacing it easy? Any advice is appreciated

Did that computer problem also change your avatar from a White Sox plate to a Cubs plate? :shifty:

If it's not dust, yeah, you may need to purchase a new fan. Shouldn't be expensive and you ought to be able to install it yourself. Measure how big the current fan is using a metric ruler before you purchase it (there are a few different sizes). To install it, figure out how it is seated first before plugging it to the motherboard for power.

If you'd stop looking at BangBus 24/7, you wouldn't be getting so many viruses.

Please whatever you do, DON'T use a vacuum cleaner near your computer. Use a can of compressed air instead.
