So I’m the dad of two young girls and like most girls they LOVE Taylor Swift. So me and the wife thought we’d get the family tickets. Well we didn’t get through the initial sales and now the cheapest tickets are over $600 after all fees.

**** that!

I’m curious…. What’s the most you have spent… or would spend on a concert or sports event?

Me personally I don’t think I’ve gone over $250.

$160 a pop on David Byrne tickets because David Bowie, Whitney Houston & Prince had already died and I was afraid God was killing off the entire 1980s...so I panicked and bought them despite the ridiculous price.

I am struggling to think of any event I really think is worth more than a hundred bucks. Have not been to a Bears game since they crossed that threshold for even the cheap seats.

I'd pay 200 for David Byrne, no problem.

I think the most I paid was for MDNA in 2012

$700/ticket for three 1st row seats at S.F. this year against the 49ers. Bucket list item for my two brothers and I. I can pretend I'll never spend that much again, but I know I'll be taking my two boys one day.

Was it worth it? Yes and no. The rain and the win made it great. Had the Bears lost...yikes. The crazy weather makes the game/experience that much better.

I think my problem is the auditorium had subpar sound and my seats were kinda crappy, like to the point I ended up mostly just watching the overhead monitor. Then last year, I see the filmed version of the same tour (American Utopia) on HBO in my living room and was more impressed.
My sound system was better and my picture clearer....so what did I pay all that money for again???

Maybe I am just being old & jaded...and a little cheap.

Or maybe it's just an extension of my love/hate relationship with David Byrne. The man is a genius, but he's also the asshole that broke up my favorite band.

Paid north of $400 for an outfield ticket to game six of the 2016 Cubs playoff game against the Dodgers.

Most I have ever spent on a ticket but it ended up being totally worth it.

$350 for a VIP ticket to see Rage Against the Machine/Wu-Tang/Public Enemy. Worth every penny.

Also paid $350 for Radiohead VIP but sadly the band kind of mailed it in that night.

Have spent over $1,000 several times in Vegas for a seat at a championship boxing match, but it’s always been with client or prospective clients so I looked at it as an investment.

Fun fact, @SilenceS has a Strip Club version of this thread in the mod forum.
