There's no way I could imagine a more perfect fit for this team's collection of talent. Definitely glad the Bulls decided to go with Thibs.

I wish we could've gotten this guy years ago instead of VDN. He's a boss.

I'll make my decision on COTY if he gets this team healthy and to the finals. He has definitely been an elite coach thus far. Congrats to Thibs.

What makes this even more amazing is the fact that in his 1 n 2/3 seasons as head coach, he hasn't had a fully healthy roster for more than 20-25 games. That speaks to his unmatched preparation, his selfless attitude, & his incredible ability to communicate with his players.

A simply amazing job by an amazing coach. And I'm going to throw some kudos the FO's way for assembling a team of hardworking, dedicated team players who mirror their coaches drive, approach to the game, & overall attitude.

Now let's go get that ring! :buttrock:

I wonder how he'd feel about that decision right now

“He had two jobs,” said Rivers. “You can ask him. He was leaning toward one, and I grabbed him by the shoulders and said, ‘Are you kidding me?’ You get a chance to coach Derrick Rose, and you’re *going to take another job? Are you nuts?" We laugh about it now. They were *offering him a longer deal and a bigger deal. I literally said, ‘If it’s a penny to go there and $10 million to go to the other place, I’m going with the penny. In the long run, you’ll be allowed to coach and allowed to win, which will allow you to coach more.’ He made a great choice.”

The thanks goes to Doc Rivers. Way to look out for your hometown bro! :bullbang:

No shit, but he deserves COTY, no matter what

If Rick Adleman can get Minny into the playoffs without Rubio, I'd say he wins it in a landslide. Him, Thibs, Collins, & Pop are all in the conversation right now.
