On winning the Stanley Cup! Though I disagree on one thing, I think Chris Pronger probably should have won the Conn Smyth. Without him this series would have been over in 4 with a disguistingly greater goal differential. But, I don't know if the trophy has ever been awarded to a player on the losing team.

Yeah, definitely with his -5 in game 5 and his bad penalties that cost his team a goal in game 6.

Please. Toews deserved that trophy.....hands down.

No offense rabid, the Conn Smythe is for the ENTIRE playoffs, not just the Finals. And f anyone from the Flyers should have been considered, it would have been Briere.

With that said, Toews, by far was the hands down correct choice for the trophy, with Sharp being, IMO, the runner-up.

If you're a Flyers fan (which I assume you are) you should know that Ron Hextall won the Conn Smythe even though the Flyers lost to the Oilers. So it has happened. But Hexy won it because he was supremely great that year. Pronger played well, but I don't think he played well enough throughout the playoffs to be named MVP in a losing effort.

It has, but only to opposing goalies I believe.

EDIT: Reggie Leach (also from the Flyers) is the only non-goaltender to win it from the opposing team and that was because he scored 19G and 5A in 16 games.

Im not a flyers fan I'm a Blues fan. Though I haven't been on here in a while since our team currently sucks :(. And yea your right I temporarily forget the conn smyth was for the whole playoffs. In that case Toews definitely does deserve it!

Hey thanks tater nice to be back. I just moved to las vegas and with all the new changes I havent had much time to do anything. Gonna suck not being able to go to Blues games anymore. The closest I can get would be to watch them play in LA. ironically enough I'm dating a russian chick who is a huge Kings fan. :?

I have no problem with Toews winning it...but Kane would have been my second choice.

In the finals - 8pts the last 4 gms (including GWG)

vs Nash - 6gms - 4g - 3a - 7pts (SH GTG) (assisted on 2 GWG)

Vs Van - 6gms - 3g - 5a - 8pts (assisted on 1 GWG)

Vs SJ - 4gms - 0g - 5a - 5pts (assisted on 3 GWG)

VS Phi - 6gms - 3g - 5a - 8pts (GWG in gm6)

In total - 22gms - 10g - 18a - 28pts

1 GWG

6 assists on the GWG

1 SH goal

Only 4gms without a point

With all that...I think Toews is a good choice.

Are you effing nuts?!?!?!? He's the dirtiest player around; makes a joke of the NHL (second only to Buttman); and is a condescending asshat to everyone.

You have to consider the source. And I don't mean that as a shot to Rabid as he's a good poster, but I don't know many St. Louis fans that still don't wish they could stroke the Pronger Donger.

Yes he is all those things, but thats why he is loved by those who have him on their team and hated by everyone else. Your telling me you wouldn't want him on your team? You have to admit that if he wasn't on the flyers team they never would have won those 2 games or kept the games as close as they did.
