I dont think it's out of the realm of possibility the Hawks get a Hershel Walker deal for Bedard from Columbus and go Michkov.

Merzilenkins, 3, 23, 31, 62, 2024 2 firsts and 2nd. Plus proven defender, defender top prospect or big need for scenery change value, proven forward, top forward prospect or need in scenery change value player.

I am ok with it. This draft has three sure thing type All-stars. Then about 20-25 more typical top ten values.

Then maybe 15-20 more typical first round picks.
I hope we come away with 2 picks that make me very happy and 2 more surprising values.

More would start to be impressive. Involve a Merzilenkins chop shop, or serious creative trade ups from 2nd round.

I'd be leading the torch and pitchfork brigade myself if KD pulls a stunt like this.

Merz is a career .906 goaltender and was a .876 this past season. That's like, Lalime numbers. He's no better than Mrazek.

Who is the proven defender? Injured Wereinski? Provorov? Boqvist? Who's the top prospect? Face it, Columbus' lineup is as barren as ours is at this point. You'd need at least a 3-way trade for that to work with a team that was looking to fire sale their star players. I don't see that happening.

The only way KD should even entertain trading the pick that leads to Bedard away is if we get a ready-made cup-competing core with the proceeds of said trade. If a team has a ready-made cup competing core within in its ranks, it's not going to trade that out.

Rask, I'm starting to think that you subconsciously want Davidson to pass on Bedard, lol. It's all you ever talk about.

I have no inside information of course, but there's no way he's passing on Bedard. No GM would be that ballsy, especially a GM in his 2nd year.
