I'm a fan of it. I think there is solid evidence to suggest that pitcher's stuff is actually better on 3 days rest than 4 days rest. I think you have to be more careful of pitch counts, but I think ultimately this might be the best use of resources for a team.

the only thing that is bad about a 4 man on a perm basis is our fucking princess peavy.

Peavy would be the guy that would be given one of the four spots? I guess I just assumed without reading the article that Peavy was going to be in the pen with the move to a 4 man. That would be interesting since by all accounts he was struggling to be ready even with 5 days rest.

The Sox are experimenting with the extremes this season. First a 6 man rotation and now they want a 4 man. I actually like the idea of a 4 man rotation, because that's what we'll use if we get to the playoffs and might as well get the pitchers used to it. Just in case.

In a 4-man rotation, I'd want Peavy over Floyd, even with his past problems. Floyd shits himself too often. Not saying Peavy doesn't have problems, but he seems to do well on 3 days rest.
