Could the Lakers Acquire Carmelo?

I was listening to sports radio yesterday and they were discussing a rumor of Carmelo Anthony going to the Lakers (they said the Lakers are offering Andrew Bynum among other compensation, maybe Ron Artest too).

If the Lakers get Carmelo and it's Kobe-Gasol-Carmelo, they may as well cancel the rest of the regular season and the first few rounds of the playoffs and go straight to the Finals so it's Heat-Lakers.

That WOULD be a great matchup though...just annoying for the rest of the league.

The Lakers rumors are a few days old. The latest one is that Carmelo is sick of the exposure and will likely resign with the Nuggets.

i think that's a play by melo to get the knicks to hurry up and make a deal happen. at the moment they're content to wait till the off season.

he is not going to Los Angeles Lakers. I can see why the Nuggets are doing this. in my opinion, they are just trying to pry as many talent away from any possible trade they have with the New York Knicks.

I dont know if the Lakers have what the Nuggets are looking for. I mean if they trade Melo, Bynum would be nice but u obviously have to somehow replace Melo and how great he has been for Denver. Wilson Chandler would be a nice fit in there.

the centerpiece of the trade would be Andrew Bynum. It will be a terrible trade for the Los Angeles Lakers. They would lose their identity. They go from a team that is long athletic and defensive minded in the paint, to a team that will become more offensive minded. Who will get the most touches. Kobe, or Carmelo? with all that said, if this trade goes down which I think it won't. The Lakers will not win a championship this season. The Boston Celtics will pulverize them with their depth from big men.

right now, I think he would. as they are a good team in the NBA.

but as the years pass by Kobe Bryant isn't getting any younger. gasol either.

I still think he is going to end up in New York, New Jersey, or here in Chicago. If, he makes it to free agency in the end of the season.

He will not go to New Jersey and he is not coming here. If I was the Lakers management id try to get him since Kobe isn't getting any younger.

NO NO NO NO NO... This trade will not happen.. The Lakers would be stupid to trade Bynum for Melo and lose him in the offseason. Also, the Lakers would have to give up more. Not happening!
