I turn twenty one this weekend and I'm sick of drinking Bud Light. Any recommendations? I hears the Haymarket Pub & Brewery is pretty good.

The reason so many beers exist, because so many preferences exist.

Happy early birthday. Take the time to try a bunch, see what you gravitate towards. But yeah, about Bud Light... if you have to buy a national brand high availability beer, can't go wrong with some Fat Tire. ;)

From Chicago, all I've tried is Goose Island.

There's a fuckton of PacNW beers I could recommend. Lemme know if you're interested.

Yeah and on this note, go to a place like The Yardhouse where they have a ton of beers on tap to choose from and then try different types.... Reds, Browns, Blondes, etc.... IPAs... Porters... etc.... find what you like and then look for stuff in that area to try....

If you like IPAs you will have a ton of stuff to try

If anyone is ever passing through Freeport, check out Generations brewing. A friend opened it up a couple years ago and everything I have had there has been fantastic. They also won best in show at a Soldier Field brew fest. The brewery is really nice too. I always stop by several times whenever I go back to visit friends and family.

Never heard of them.

Will have to check them out. I'll be in Chicago over Memorial Day weekend.
Yes, I highly recommend that place as well.

Their tap room is quite small though, it'll be crowded on any weekend.

I was near there this last weekend (winslow), had I known about Freeport having a brewpub...would have went there.

If you like it. Drink it. It doesn't matter if it is a national brand or passe or whatever........you are only here once on Earth and it is too short.....Drink what the **** tastes good to you......

For me I have a mild allergy to hops so I stick with Guinness Draught and Stout as they don't have as much hops. I'll drink black and tans and if I feel like getting a headache I will drink Stella or Anchor Steam.
