This was mentioned in another thread but I thought it deserved its own conversation. I have no idea whether a fine is coming but nevertheless how do you feel about Gordon doing it? My thought is it is not the end of the world but I personally would rather not see it. It is not classy and is not appropriate. I am not as stunned by it as I would have been several years ago because athletes now are more and more demonstrative than ever so I have become sort of immune to it. With that said I like players to play with more class than that. Things like this and KG cussing at bulls bench earlier in series is the kind of thing that I don't like about sport. It is not necessary and serves no purpose.

I could care less if Ben does a crotch grab after hitting a buzzer-beating, game-tying 3 in a playoff game. I mean this is certainly not a regular thing that he does. Shows some attitude and cockiness and I have absolutely no problems with it.

I agree that players have gotten really demonstrative over the years, and it's definitely not a classy thing to do, but I just don't think he was doing that to show the world he's got big ones. Just like I said in a previous thread, he has a hamstring injury and it can hurt that area, and I think he was just grabbing it out of a reaction to the pain. You know like when you tweak your groin and grab down there. It's the same thing. Though it didn't look good that the courtside camera caught it in full view. And for that reason, BG will be fined.

There is zero doubt in my mind that it had nothing to do with his injury. It was a heat of the moment reaction to the play. Again not the end of the world but I can certainly live without that kind of thing. Call me old fashioned but I like guys who go about their business, make plays and move on. Show excitement and enthusiasm but be classy about it.

You're probably right Bas. I just wanted to plead a little case for BG. Atleast that's what he should tell the NBA office.

I'm praying that the injury doesn't tighten up real bad and limit him in game 5, because everyone needs to play amazing for us to pull this thing out. And not shrink away from big game pressure like they have done the past several years.

I'm fine with celebrating, and showing emotion but there is a line that a professional sportsman should not cross when you're in the limelight and a role model to other people - specifically children.

Sure, as Bulls fans we want to skim past it and say that it's not a biggie, even Gordon joked about it saying that he'll say that it was his groin that he was motioning to, but it just wasn't a very appropriate thing to do in any case. It's that type of behaviour that gave the entire USA team a bad name in the 96 or 2000 Olympics (I can't remember), where Shawn Kemp and all the other fools were doing the same thing - grabbing their crotch and making obscene gestures every chance they could get. It gave our new generation basketball players look arrogant and quite frankly foolish, and for the most part they were right as that generation of players was an era that the NBA would like to forget about.

Lets keep it about the game, show emotion but keep it professional.

That being said, I don't see Gordon as being an unprofessional player by any means. It was most likely a once off, spur of the moment reaction, but still..

At the time the euphoria of the incredible shot negated the reality that it was a very dumb decision on BG's part. Hopefully he apologizes for doing it.

He should have done the "watch me carry my giant cajones down the court" celebration, that I think he did in that Miami game, instead of the nutcheck celebration.

The Sam Cassell I got big balls walk after hitting a big shot when he was with Minnesota is classic. One of my favorite all time celebrations along with TO whipping out the sharpie and autographing the ball and tossing it into the stands(okay he was on my fantasy team that year and I won that game because of that play which was on SNF, where he was the last player either of us had going, bias.. )

Anyway, the nutcheck isn't something I think was all that great, no where near as good as the Sam Cassell "it's hard to walk with a nutsack this big" trot down the court, but I'm not going to complain about "the children" when the entire crowd was chanting BULLS--T multiple times during the game (several after really obvious correct calls which annoyed me even more).

I love the crotch grab. Personally, I wish he would do it more often and that a little bit of his swagger will rub off on derrick. I love it when players show emotion and I HATE the celtics. I mean, he did just hit a 3 to tie the game with 4 secs left in over time. Hes entitled to talk a little s@#*. People love it when kg does it and kg, the biggest fugazi in the nba, only talks to back-up white pgs. Bg, on the other hand, at least had the balls to do it to the whole celtics team.

On another note, Im so happy that kg is most likely done as an upper-tier player. I cant wait to see him come back as joe smith. At least now when he mocks JJ Barea he will be mocking his peer. I dont have a problem at all with taunting...in fact, I like it. However, I dont like it when "star" players only mock scrubs.

Having swagger and showing emotion is something I have no problem with. Acting like a moron when you are out on the court is something entirely different. Grabbing your crotch after making a shot is moronic. I don't love it when KG does his thing or anyone else for that matter. Acting inappropriate is not okay whether you are taunting scrubs, stars, or anyone. Act like a professional for once. Is that too much to ask?

My only problem with the crotch grab was that it didn't win the game, that is the kinda thing you do over by the opposing bench before walking off the court. He did that and then could have lost the game and it would have seemed silly. I agree it is not very creative, but it is a good way to flip the bird to the other team without flippin the bird. I think his okay sign with the 3 fingers up to his eye is awesome, like a sniper, even Miller did it after he hit that 3. I don't have a problem with it though it did surprise me coming from Gordon, even though he is from Mt. Vernon that is a pretty hardcore move.

Yah but I think all of KG's mouth motivated that, I think it might have been for him.

I find reading that was funny.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
I don't have a problem with it, but I can see why people would not be very pleased about it.

This is just all speculation, but I'm sure when Kevin Garnett was yelling at the Bulls in the hallway after game 3, he probably yelled something about the Bulls having no man parts.

Not necessarily what happened, but a high probability of happening imo.

I think if Kevin Garnett was playing in this series, Brad Miller would currently be suspended for punching him, or flipping him on his back when he went for a dunk, or something of that nature.

But KG has picked on legitimate players...kind of. He started getting in Duncan's face, but then Duncan didn't back down, and KG waited for the refs to come and get big bad Tim Duncan away, while still doing his gangster act.

And then there was when he tried to do his gangster act on Antonio McDyess, and ended up throwing the ball at McDyess and ran away. And then of course on Anthony Peeler who punched him.

Kevin Garnett is a classless low life. Who knows what he did in that school during the lynching in South Carolina that he was charged in, but it wouldn't shock me if Garnett participated. Punching Rick Rickert, whose favorite player growing up was Kevin Garnett, jsut because the guy scored on him a few times is about as low as you can go.
