For two possible rule 5 draft picks in Herz and Made.

Plus it might help us to retain Candelario past this year.

Great trade.

Here comes the losing streak. Stroman fell off a cliff. Probably couldn’t even give him away if the Cubs were sellers.

Nice trade already cost a run.

4 for 5 with 2 runs.. Great trade.. till he strikes out once then I'll say it's bad..

I like the flexibility. Gave Suzuki a day off. Let's Trauch go into a 4th OF role. Mancini needed to go.

3/3. 4 runs scored

Worst trade ever.

Some think.

But not much to say after 34 runs dropped on the Reds post trade?.

Makes ya go hmmmm

The Cubs have allowed 15 runs in two games since acquiring Candelario. Not a good sign.

4 from Kay.
Smyly has been meh for a while.

Cubs need a arm. With Stro missing a start I hope it goes to Kilian.

He has 44 starts and ,near 200 innings at Iowa. I think it is time to test him again.

It has been almost two games. Time to call it a great deal!

36 runs in 2 days. He has gone almost perfect playing both 1st and 3B.

So 2 games? I'll take it. What matters is it shocked the Reds and put Mil on alert to a new sheriff in town.

That is what matters right now. Setting the tone going forward. Chicago has pushed up Horton to Tenn and PCA to Iowa. Jed has them on the fast track

So winning now matters. It forces change vs stagnation. Which is Jed's MO. Delay delay in building windows. Winning forced Bryant up and so on.

Not really. Horton was a college player and he performed well. It's not surprising to see a college player hit AA a year after they are drafted especially if they are a high pick. Neto for example was drafted in the same class as Horton and was in the majors to start 2023. PCA had a 134 wRC+ in AA over 342 PAs. He's been ready for a promotion for awhile. Promotions were performance based not them being fast tracked.

After two games,LOL. The first thing he apparently got right in the last 50 things he proposed and we're gonna hear about it. Just a few weeks ago he was selling and writing them off....should they lose a few, he will disappear again while he buries his nose up Bill James ass for awhile. Then return with more juicy tidbits why the Cubs should've sold.

Winning changes things. If they sat at 10 games under then yes Jed should have sold.

But the why part: this team refuses to quit. Even when the starter sucks the pen holds it down for the O to lite up. They were down last night and blew up the Reds again in spite of Smyly.

Seems many here would have rather saw the Cubs lose and sell vs win.

Good showing. Bunch of closet Sox fans. So used to losing that wining hurts.
