According to a guy that I took a history class from in college the Cubs are one more one run loss away from the longest consecutive streak of 1 run losses.
This is the fourth time in their history the Cubs have dropped 10 consecutive one-run decisions. The franchise record is 11, set nearly a century ago. So if the Cubs drop the next game decided by one run, they’ll have tied a mark of frustration. Yeah, no one wants to do that.

The Cubs are at 11 consecutive road losses which according to Doug Padilla
The Cubs’ losing ways continue to recall futility from the past. Their 11-game road losing streak is the club’s longest of that length since another 11-game road slide June 18-29, 1954. That was the first full season for Ernie Banks on the North Side.

...so you're saying the Cubs are not very good at baseball.

I forgot to post this yesterday, but the Cubs one run loss in extra innings was a franchise record 12th consecutive losses in games decided by 1 run.

They've lost the last 12 games they've played that were decided by 1 run. It is kind of a stupid record, but it is interesting to note.

very damn good article. very true emotional swings that us fans go through everyday with our favorite teams.

the only thing i disagree with is the overachieving player(s) on the sox. really the only one that is overachieving for their career and age is PK. Rios was supposed to be this player.

but overall i understand 100% how one can feel that way.

my curve would be denial, anger, happy, anger, happy, kicked in the nuts

now can i write on this site about sorianos 3rd deck HR :troll:

AJ would be the other guy that is overacheiving at a level he really hasn't in the past. I would throw Peavy into the mix coming back from injury the way he has. Those type of breaks are just things that don't happen for my club the way it does for other teams it seem. That part was there really though to explain that I wasn't upset that the Sox beat the Cubs, but that the Sox represented what I was hoping for the Cubs (given that they were a better team the previous year and a better team now).

i can see peavy for sure because of injury. he is not a thrower anymore but a pitcher.

aj stated that he has done what most players want to do, call a no no, win the WS and hit for AVG at the catcher position. this year he said he want to become more of a power hitter because he never was...that was in ST
