Big Bryd. Hands down. He's one of two or three Cubs that are actually hitting and whether the score is 0-0, 14-0, or 0-14, he's always hustling in center.

Byrd. And Pitchers are usually not given MVP. Have any pitchers ever gotten MVP on the league-level?

and ETA:who cares if pitchers usually dont get MVPs on for leagues this isnt the first half NL MVP..this is the first half CUBS MVP....tho i do see your point...i dont think any pitcher on the Cubs has really been dominant....Silva has been good so far however

^ya but the last time a pitcher won an MVP was 1992

the game has evolved to the point that pitchers unless they are ridiculously dominant arent going to be NL or AL MVP

Ubaldo Jimenez has a legit shot at NL MVP this year however

if he can keep up his ridiculous numbers

also because he himself is keeping the Rockies in the NL west race esp. since Troy Tulowitzki is out

now that we are moving into the pitchers era, we're likely to see a pitcher win an MVP within the next five years i bet.

i go Marmol because to me there is no other closer out there that can match his strikeout rating....If the cubs could have given him the ball more with leads it would be a special year for marmol

I picked Colvin just because I want him playing everyday and want him to be in the outfield on opening day 2011

Cubs fans wouldn't have anything to be pleased about this season without Byrd.
