Cubs pitching and arm injuries

Something i've been thinking about what with the wave of arm injuries going around is how the cubs(thankfully) really haven't had issue with it. And that makes me wonder if that is by design. It's pretty obvious the cubs haven't *really* focused on max effort stuff guys. They have been far more in on guys like wicks/hendricks...etc who rely higher on control than strikeouts. And because of that they haven't exactly had the kind of pitching success people crave but again I sorta wonder if this is by design to get a guy who can give you a full season reliably rather than a guy who could dominate or blow is arm out at any given point.

Considering the guys (Horton, brown, ferris, etc.) they've targeted the last couple seasons, I'd say the design is changing.
